Summary
- Destiny 2 players showcase impressive Guardian fashion inspired by Mordin Solus from Mass Effect.
- Guardian customization in Destiny 2 allows for creative character creations.
- Recreating characters from other franchises in Destiny 2 has become a popular trend among players.
A Destiny 2 player has shown off their impressive Guardian fashion, after turning their main character into a near-perfect recreation of Mass Effect's Salarian scientist, Mordin Solus. This Destiny 2 Guardian looks eerily like the Mass Effect fan favorite, drawing praise from the game's fashion community online.
Since the launch of Destiny 2 back in 2017, fans of the game have created something of a subculture around Guardian fashion. Destiny 2 offers a ton of customization options, which allows players to get creative with the types of characters they create. Some just aim to create the coolest-looking Guardian possible, while others attempt to create their favorites from other franchises in Destiny 2. There was even one Destiny 2 player who recreated Dragon Ball Z's Goku in the game, and this Mordin Solus recreation is along those same lines.
Destiny 2 Players Map Out The Witness' Body From Salvation's Edge, and It's Absolutely Massive
Destiny 2 players obtain a zoomed-out view of The Witness itself, showing off the sheer scale of its form as seen in the Salvation's Edge raid.
Redditor The_Squatch shared their impressive recreation of Mass Effect's companion, Mordin Solus, as a Destiny 2 Guardian, and the detail found here is awesome. They have even managed to capture Solus' long alien head, which could have proved a roadblock to making this look convincing without the right item. They have recolored several pieces of armor with ornaments, and looking at this Guardian and Mordin Solus side-by-side, there's undoubtedly a strong resemblance there, especially if fans can look past the helmet not actually being an alien head.
Destiny 2 Mordin Solus Recreation
The_Squatch was kind enough to share the individual armor pieces they were using to recreate Mordin Solus. The iconic long shape of Mordin's head is emulated by the Iron Fellowship Hood, which is complemented by the Symmetrists' Palms, Iron Will Steps, and the Streetscholar Bond. However, what really makes it convincing is the Holdfast Robes on the chest piece, which looks exactly like Mordin Solus' outfit in Mass Effect. They even showed off which Destiny 2 ornaments they used to recolor their armor, which really sells the illusion of a Mordin Solus Guardian.
Later this year, Destiny 2 will turn seven years old, and it will be interesting to see what Bungie has planned for the future of the game. Just recently, the studio released Destiny 2's The Final Shape DLC, bringing a ton of new content to the game and keeping it fresh for veteran players. The first episode, Echoes, will soon be followed by Revenant and Heresy, with releases on the second and third episodes planned in October 2024 and February 2025. With The Final Shape serving as the end of Destiny's Light and Darkness Saga, it remains to be seen if the next saga will come in the form of a sequel or even more expansions to Destiny 2.
