A Destiny 2 leak has revealed that the game will get content based on Street Fighter. Destiny 2 tasks players with taking on the role of Guardians who need to recover their powers and defend The Last City. But despite its sci-fi setting, that hasn't stopped Bungie's game from getting a diverse number of crossovers.
Back in 2022, players saw a collaboration with Assassin's Creed, adding armor sets inspired by Kassandra, Eivor, and Altair. The following year it was The Witcher's turn, marking the debut of cosmetics inspired by Geralt of Rivia. This year, players got the unexpected collab between Destiny 2 and Dungeons and Dragons, which added sets of themed armor for players to equip on their Guardians. For sci-fi fans, Bungie's title has also teamed up with Mass Effect, releasing armor sets inspired by Garrus, Shepard, and T'Soni.
Now, a Destiny 2 leak teases that the game's next crossover will be with Street Fighter. On Twitter, a user called Bungie_Leaks shared images revealing that there are new Ghost Shells stylized as Ryu, Chun-Li, and Cammy. As well as being able to customize their Ghosts, a leak from Twitter user JpDeathBlade reveals a Blanka mask which, according to him, will cost 800 silver and all three classes will be able to use. Other information reveals the potential existence of Street Fighter-themed finishers called Hadouken, Lightning Kick, and Spinning Bird Kick, a reference to Ryu and Chun-Li's moves, and an emblem called World Warrior.
Street Fighter Also Has a Long History of Crossovers
While Destiny 2 has a significant history of collaborations, it's no different with the Street Fighter franchise, which has accumulated team-ups inside and outside the gaming world. One of the best-remembered examples is Marvel Vs. Capcom games, pitting characters from Capcom franchises such as Street Fighter against Marvel heroes and villains. Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, Guile, Sakura, and Blanka made surprise appearances in Fortnite, with the World Warriors appearing in titles such as Brawlhalla, Fall Guys, and Magic: The Gathering.
At the time of writing, there is no additional information, such as when the Street Fighter content will come to Destiny 2, or if there are more items, such as armor sets based on the characters. As with all leaks, players should take this information with a pinch of salt, as things can always change until an official announcement is made by the devs. In the meantime, Destiny 2 players won't be without exciting content, which includes a recent Episode Revenant update.
