Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate has renewed the gear pool with cool armaments and Armor Sets. And to make the most out of them, Enhancement Cores are required. This leveling material is often taken for granted, even by the most experienced Guardians, but when they need it the most, they soon find out there's a shortage of it.

Destiny 2 Reveals Edge of Fate Artifact and Perks

Bungie reveals the new Destiny 2 artifact and all of its perks that players will be unlocking once the upcoming Edge of Fate expansion launches.

Nothing is worse than having the perfect stat roll in a piece of Armor or having one of the God Rolls of meta weapons, and running short of enhancement materials to upgrade them to Masterwork. So, with that in mind, here's a complete guide on how to get Enhancement Cores faster in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate.

How to Get Enhancement Cores Fast in Destiny 2

The fastest way to obtain Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate is by completing Ritual Activities with the Ghost's Shell Core Harvest booster modifier active. Players should complete Portal Activities repeatedly to earn more cores, especially Crucible, since these are the fastest activities to complete, and Guardians will receive rewards more often than by completing Strikes or any of the other Portal activities, which often take far longer than 10 minutes.

Disassembling unwanted weapons and armor is also a good way to obtain extra Enhancement Cores, since most Legendary gear disassembled that way has a slight chance to drop them (2 out of 10 times will result in players getting these materials). Players can also claim several Enhancement Cores by leveling their Rewards Pass.

Next, players can find additional options to get more Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate:

  • Trade with Rahool in the Tower, then Select Material Exchange and purchase Enhancement Cores for Enhancement Prisms.
  • Randomly dropped in Destinations by killing enemies.
  • As a reward for Portal Activities completion above D Rank.
  • By trading them at Xur every Friday, in exchange for Strange Coins.
  • Obtained from Suraya Hawthorne, as Rank Rewards for completing Social Activities.

With the advent of Armor 3.0, players might want to pay attention to the number of Enhancement Cores they have, as they will need dozens of them to turn the new Set Pieces into Masterwork versions. Try to use as many of these methods as possible to get even more Enhancement Cores from activities.

How to Use Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate

Enhancement Cores can be used either to modify equipment, by upgrading the Weapons' Masterwork levels or for purchasing Legacy Armor and weapons from the many vendors in the tower, like Zavala, The Drifter, and Banshee-44. Since The Edge of Fate dropped, players can also obtain Legacy Trials armor from Saint-14 in the Hangar, so those who are missing some of the pieces of previously featured Trials of Osiris Armor can complete their collection that way.

Ever since Weapon Enhancement was brought into the game, players can also invest Enhancement Cores to level up most Legendary Weapons in the same way they would do with Deepsight Weapons, to improve their Perks into improved versions. They cannot re-roll perks, sadly, but its a great investment to make if players are sure to have a God Roll of a meta weapon in their hands and want to improve it further.
