It's a big day for Destiny 2 fans as the highly anticipated Forsaken expansion is finally here. In addition to all sorts of new loot to find, players can return to The Reef to hunt down Uldren Sov and his Barons who have escaped from the Prison of Elders. The Dreaming City is also being positioned as a massive new location offering plenty of end game content for those players high level enough. Eventually, the Last Wish raid will arrive and kick off a new "World's First" competition to see who can clear it first.

Players have also been enjoying a massive overhaul of most features and mechanics thanks to the Sandbox Update which arrived last week. Not only was it intended to prepare the game for Forsaken, but it adjusted all sorts of things including weapons and armor, class abilities, Crucible mechanics, and PvE gameplay as well. Many of these changes have updated many elements to the Weekly Reset which is now overlayed inside the director instead of along the side of the screen in a menu.

With Forsaken finally here, the weekly milestone ritual has changed somewhat from previous seasons. As part of season 4, some activities have been changed so make sure to consult this revamped Reset guide for Destiny 2 as it offers the complete list of activities available and how to beat them for the week of September 4.

Nightfall Strike Details

Nightfall Strike Options: Warden of Nothing; Arms Dealer; A Garden World

New to the Sandbox update is the choice of three different Nightfall strikes for the week. For Sept 4, players can pick from The Arms Dealer where they take on the Cabal leader Braccus Zahn, Warden of Nothing, a new Forsaken strike, and A Garden World which previously arrived with Curse of Osiris last December.

Each option starts at a recommended power level of 540, so players may want to grind for new gear a bit before taking on these missions. Keep in mind that players can only select a Nightfall from expansions they already own.

Nightfall Challenges:

  • Equipment Locked: Once the mission starts, players can no longer switch their currently equipped gear.
  • Extinguish: Once a fireteam dies in a restricted zone, they're returned to orbit.

Flashpoint Location

Flashpoint Location: EDZ

As many players are quickly now finding out, Cayde is no longer the Flashpoint lead anymore which has no fallen to each of the planetary vendors like Ana Bray on Mars. However, the Flashpoint milestone received another important buff following last week's Sandbox Update. While players can still opt in to doing Public Events, clearing Lost Sectors and Heroic Adventures are another way to fill the progression meter. As always, consult our heroic modifier guide for public events to help finish this a bit faster.

Once complete, turn this into Devrim Kay at the Trostland church.

Tower Objectives and Bounties

Bounties have returned in a big way as part of the Forsaken expansion and upon returning to the Tower for the first time, make sure to stop by Tess Everis who offers a new Eververse Bounty for the week. Completing it rewards Bright Dust, a currency which can be used to purchase her cosmetic items. Her inventory also features another bounty that can be purchased for a small amount of glimmer.

Clan Steward, Suraya Hawthorne also has clan oriented bounties players can pick up to earn XP. Just like Crucible and Vanguard bounties, these expire 24 hours after being purchased.

Speaking of the Crucible, make sure to visit Lord Shaxx who now has four new pursuits to start. While two of them can't be purchased until level 43 and a certain rank, the other two are available.

  • Orientation: Defeat opponents with Pulse Rifle final blows.
  • Shock and Denial: Play 10 Competitive matches.

Finally, the new Triumphs tab on the pause screen provides long-term goals for players to finish, all related to different aspects of the game including the campaign, Crucible, lore, Gambit, and more. Many are retroactive to make sure to visit this tab to turn in each completed triumph to raise the overall score.

Crucible Milestone and Weekly Playlist

Complete Crucible Matches - Finish 5 total Crucible matches. Any of the playlists count towards this milestone except a private match.

Vanguard Strike Milestone

Vanguard Strikes - Complete 1 strike in the playlist.

Recent updates have removed heroic strikes from the game altogether, so this milestone has gotten a bit easier. Even with the heroic modifier gone, this playlist does still feature modifiers that change every day. In addition, the playlist difficulaty can be changed from the recommended 300 level default to level 40 and level 50. In addition to higher difficulty, players may obtain better loot as well.

And that's all for this week. Good luck, Guardians!
