The Final Shape has arrived, and as the Witness threatens reality itself, Guardians must band together and face perhaps the deadliest event Destiny 2 will ever see. In the culmination of 10 years of storytelling for the Light vs Dark narrative, players are going to want to bring their best to the fight, and if they want to make things even more challenging, then they certainly can thanks to Destiny 2’s optional Legendary Campaign.
Destiny 2: All Dread Enemies & How To Counter Them
The Dread are the latest despicable faction serving the Witness in Destiny 2's The Final Shape, and here's vital information on how to beat them.
Players are free to start Destiny 2’s Legendary Campaign for The Final Shape at any time once they have access to the expansion, and if they are daring enough to face the challenges that await them, and complete it, they will earn plenty of rewards for their triumph.
How To Start The Final Shape Legendary Campaign
Upon loading up Destiny 2 with The Final Shape expansion, players should enter into a cutscene to begin their journey. After the cutscene finishes, players will have the option to select Be Brave or Become Legend. The latter option, Become Legend, is the start of the Legendary Destiny 2 Campaign for The Final Shape. However, if players exit out of this screen, or watch the cutscene but have not started the campaign, then starting The Final Shape with Legendary difficulty might seem confusing.
All players need to do to start The Final Shape in the Legendary Campaign is to select the Traveler’s Pale Heart destination above the Tower in the Destinations tab. Upon selecting the Pale Heart, players will have the option to start the campaign’s first mission, Transmigration, but only in Normal. This is standard, and all players have to do is select the Launch option, to which they will be taken directly to a screen where they can choose between Normal and Legend.
It’s worth noting that players can switch to Normal difficulty at any time during the campaign, but if players want to earn some epic rewards from The Final Shape, then they are going to need to complete all missions in the Legendary campaign.

After each Darkness Zone encounter, players will receive a chest with double the rewards. These chests can include Glimmer, Upgrade Modules, Ascendant Shards, and other Rare/Legendary gear that can slowly increase the Power Level of the Guardian brave enough to face Legendary Difficulty.
Upon completion of The Final Shape campaign on Legendary Difficulty, players will receive a high Power gear set, fixed at 1960. This set of Rare Gear provides players with high Power stats for all armor slots for the class they completed the campaign on. This Power level is a great bonus for those who jump into The Final Shape, as it’s a whole 20 Power above the soft cap, and 30 Power below the Powerful gear cap.
Players will also receive the Victorious Oddment emblem, showcasing to other Guardians their mastery of the campaign on the hardest difficulty.

Is It Worth Doing The Final Shape Campaign On Legendary Difficulty?
The Legendary Campaign is no joke, and even with a Fireteam of 3 well-equipped Guardians, players might struggle. More enemies spawn than usual, have shields, and their Power level is far greater, even as the missions continue through. If players are unfamiliar with Destiny 2, or just want to experience The Final Shape alone or in a casual setting with friends for its story and potential, then feel free to enter the Be Brave section where they can complete it in Normal.
For players who are up for the challenge, and do not mind the fact that they might have to restart a few encounters from time to time, then jump into Legendary Difficulty with the Become Legend screen. It’s a Legendary version of the campaign, and it’s going to take decent gear and a fair amount of strategy due to limited revives, but it’s certainly worth it for players who want to get the full experience and unlock new rewards to show off how good they are at Destiny 2.
