Every Season of Destiny 2 adds a whole arsenal of weaponry that matches the theme of that Season. While originally these weapons would eventually sunset (retired) and be borderline useless in most activities, Bungie has stopped sunsetting weapons due to how unpopular that was with the community. So even after a Season ends, players can still acquire some of these older weapons.
This is especially advantageous for newer players who may have started well after that particular Season ended. A good example of a weapon that players will want to chase is a Legendary Kinetic SMG called Extraordinary Rendition. Here is how Destiny 2 players can get Extraordinary Rendition.
How to Get Extraordinary Rendition
Extraordinary Rendition is a Kinetic SMG that was added during Season of the Chosen (Season 13) back in 2021. This SMG was originally part of the loot table for the Battlegrounds that were part of the storyline of Season of the Chosen. Those activities are still accessible via the Vanguard Ops playlist, but the weapons that were once obtained through completing them have been shifted to a different source.
In order to get Extraordinary Rendition, Destiny 2 players will have to wait for the weekend (starting on Fridays at 1 PM EST) when Xur appears at one of the destinations in the game. Xur sells a variety of Exotic weapons and armor, including a special engram that drops a guaranteed Exotic that players don't have (if there are any that aren't from quests or dungeons/raids).
Aside from also being how new players can acquire Hawkmoon and Dead Man's Tale, Xur also sells a rotating set of armor and weapons. This includes armor sets from all the way back to Season of the Drifter. Periodically Xur sells old seasonal weapons, and Extraordinary Rendition is one of those. When Xur sells this gun, players can purchase it for 1,000 Glimmer and 50 Legendary Shards.
Xur's inventory is random every week. So it could be weeks, months, or more before players can purchase Extraordinary Rendition.
Being able to get Extraordinary Rendition is one thing. But the most important part about this weapon is the rolls that it drops with. Being a 750 RPM SMG, Extraordinary Rendition is a useful kinetic weapon. Even with a bad roll, players can do well with this weapon in both PvE and PvP.
But as far as perks go, there are several options. Rampage and Overflow is considered a god roll. Overflow and Frenzy is a good combo of perks as well. Since SMGs are really strong in the current Season of Destiny 2, trying to get a god roll Extraordinary Rendition is a great choice if players are struggling to get Immortal in Trials of Osiris.
Destiny 2 is available now on Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
