While it's going to be another four weeks and a few days for Revenant's Act 3 to drop, which will come with new missions, Tonics, loot, and the Exotic shotgun called Slayer's Fang, December 10 is likely the next big patch for Destiny 2 before 2025 rolls around. It's unknown at this stage whether the multiple bugs affecting the game will be resolved before the end of the year, but fans can look forward to December 10, 2024, for some new shiny things to get.
December 10 is Going to Be a Big Day For Destiny 2 Fans
On December 10, 2024, Destiny 2's Dawning event will come back. According to the latest TWID post by Bungie, the Dawning event will largely remain the same throughout its duration, and the snowballs may finally have some use to boot thanks to Episode Revenant's focus on Stasis builds. With the Dawning, Bungie will give a full makeover to some of the event's older weapons as well as introduce a new one - a Void linear fusion rifle called Mistral Lift.
Mistral Lift will have access to one of Destiny 2's best damage combos thanks to Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch, making it a great choice for DPS.
Why Destiny 2 Fans Shouldn't Miss The Astral Stasis Drake Armor Sets
Alongside the Dawning, Bungie will release a total of three new cosmetic sets with the baseline concept of "celestial dragons," which is quite different from the typical Dawning armor in Destiny 2. These new sets will be available for both Bright Dust and Silver, meaning that players can get them for free even if they haven't saved up on Bright Dust thanks to the generous Dawning bounties. With a star-filled night sky theme for the "wings" of the Astral Stasis Drake armor sets and dragon-shaped helmets, this could very well be one of the most popular cosmetic releases to date.
Destiny 2's New Dawning Emblems and Community Event Explained
With Destiny 2's Dawning 2024 event, players will get the chance to earn some new emblems. These are obtained via A Gift in Return packages, but they are described by Bungie as "pretty rare," something that is mitigated by an upcoming community event called Dawning Bake-Off. During the Dawning, players will be able to progress the community event by baking specific sets of cookies.
Destiny 2 players will need Essence of Dawning and ingredients to make cookies.
Each week will have different sets, and the community goals will make the associated emblem more common to obtain. The schedule and requirements are as follows:
First week of Dawning - December 10-16 - Confectionary Commander

Destiny 2's Winter 2024 Fashion Contest Explained
Last but not least, Bungie is also throwing a fashion contest that will award exclusive Destiny 2 Emblems - namely, the Felis Galaxias and The Levante Prize. The rules require players to come up with fashion for their Guardians that's themed around Stasis, winter, or desserts, and to enter they will need to use the #DawningFashion hashtag on social media and type their BungieID.
