Bequest has been in Destiny 2 since the release of the Beyond Light expansion, but with the introduction of the Lament during that same time, it was easily overshadowed. However, the community has finally recognized this sword's worth. Here are a couple of Bequest god rolls for you to find or craft.

The reasons why so many players prefer Bequest against Crota are because of the ammo generation from Relentless Strikes, the damage buff from Surrounded, and the sword's high base Impact stat. The Bequest can reach the same Impact value as the Lament, putting them on par with each other in terms of damage per swing. However, Bequest has the advantage of simplicity — players need to use a specific combo for the Lament to deal max damage, but all the Bequest needs to do is spam light attacks until Crota dies. On the other hand, Bequest needs Surrounded to be active in order to deal its maximum DPS.

A fireteam with five Bequests and a Tractor Cannon can beat Crota in a single phase if everything is perfectly executed. While other swords or weapons can achieve the same thing, it can be argued that the Bequest requires the least effort out of all options. Make sure to use Boss Spec, armor mods like Lucent Blade, and Seasonal Artifact mods to fully stack Bequests damage against bosses.

Outside of Crota's End, the Relentless Strikes/Surrounded roll still performs well in scenarios where bosses are surrounded by adds. However, should players want a more general-purpose Bequest roll, they can use one with Tireless Blade and Chain Reaction instead. This combo is very ammo efficient; the latter can kill multiple targets at once, while the former restores ammo per sword kill.

Since Bequest is a craftable weapon, do try to get the Enhanced versions of the perks listed above to maximize their effectiveness. Enhanced Surrounded is especially important as it bumps the sword damage buff up to 41.75% instead of just 35% from the normal variant.
