The Albedo Wing was introduced in the 2023 Dawning event in Destiny 2, and it offers a new way to use glaives when fighting both alien combatants and Guardians in the Crucible. It may not have the same Stasis flavoring as other Dawning weapons, but it's got one special perk up its sleeve that makes it surprisingly effective from a distance.
3 Hunter Builds Destiny 2 Players Shouldn't Sleep on in Season of the Wish
Destiny 2's Season of the Wish has shaken up the meta from S22, and now Hunters can look forward to three new and powerful builds.
Glaives aren't particularly popular in Destiny 2, but there's no denying how strong they can be in the right situations. The Albedo Wing is no exception to this, but the god rolls it can get are definitely worth taking a look at, especially for Guardians who like to fight up close and personal.

Grave Robber and Close to Melee are excellent for melee-oriented builds. The former keeps the glaive loaded, while the latter significantly increases the weapon's melee damage. Grave Robber is particularly important for melee glaive setups since it completely removes the need to reload, which also means players will always be able to charge up their glaive's shield as long as they have ammo to spare.
On the other hand, the Albedo Wing can also be a reliable, ranged Special weapon with Demolitionist and either Beacon Rounds for increased shot consistency or Replenishing Aegis for constant reloads while blocking damage. Beacon Rounds can catch Guardians in the Crucible off guard with its strong tracking when active, making the Albedo Wing easier to use at range compared to the majority of other glaives.
Albedo Wing is the first glaive that can roll with Golden Tricorn. However, using this perk can be a little tricky since players cannot use their subclass melee ability when wielding a glaive. Golden Tricorn also disappears if you switch to a different weapon, which means the only way to get two stacks of the perk is to get a kill with a grenade or a Super. Glaive melee attacks always deal Kinetic damage.
How to Get Albedo Wing in Destiny 2
As an event-exclusive weapon, the Albedo Wing can only be obtained during The Dawning, which is Destiny 2's christmas event. Dawning weapons can be obtained by completing event challenges, opening Festive Engrams, and purchasing them directly from Eva Levante. Focusing a Dawning weapon costs one Gift in Return and 25 Dawning Spirit. The former can be obtained by giving cookies to NPCs in the Tower. The Ice Cold Combat challenge rewards players with an Albedo Wing, and all you have to do is score 100 Final Blows with Snowballs.
Players who miss out on the Albedo Wing can still get the weapon again in the following year's Dawning event. By then, the weapon will likely receive some new perks as well. In the meantime, make sure to bake as many cookies as possible and give them all away for a better chance at getting an Albedo Wing god roll.
