This movie could take over from Demon Slayer, which most definitely isn't getting another movie next year, and is instead planning a big return in 2027 with Infinity Castle Part 2. Still, Solo Leveling might face some tough competition in 2026 from The Apothecary Diaries and One Piece.
Solo Leveling Movie Will Be Massive In 2026
Solo Leveling’s popularity blew up with the release of the highly anticipated second season earlier this year. Solo Leveling Season 2 has put the series on everyone’s radar, and while it's already become a global sensation, it seems the series will go even bigger soon.
Up until recently, fans believed the next step for Solo Leveling would be a third season. After all, even the producers were talking about a Solo Leveling Season 3. Now, however, it seems that plans have changed with the success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1. Indeed, a report from the production committee of Solo Leveling was recently revealed, and the upcoming project for the series seems to be a new movie.
Solo Leveling Gets A New Update From The Anime Producer

In the report, it was mentioned that the goal is to release this new Solo Leveling movie in 2026. This is definitely a possibility, but could be subject to change depending on the production and the pace the project moves at. A late 2026 or early 2027 release definitely seems possible.
Solo Leveling, The Apothecary Diaries, And One Piece Will Compete For Best Movie In 2026
Solo Leveling’s new movie is almost a guarantee at this point, and while fans have no idea what it will cover, it’s certain that the movie will be a huge hit, even if it's not on the same level as Infinity Castle. Most fans agree that Solo Leveling’s movie could be 2026’s biggest anime movie hit, and that's understandable, given the fact that it's the highest-rated anime on Crunchyroll and even won Anime of the Year in 2025. Still, there will be some competition from other big series.
The Apothecary Diaries has already confirmed a movie for 2026. It’s set for a December release, which should also be around the date of Solo Leveling’s own reported movie release too. This Apothecary Diaries movie will be an original story written by the author, and fans are hyped.
One Piece, while not confirmed yet, is also very likely to get a new movie next year. The last One Piece movie, One Piece: Film Red, dropped in 2022. Fans have since been waiting for something new. With the new Jump Festa coming up in December 2025, a new movie will definitely be officially announced. The production for the next One Piece movie was already announced during last year's Jump Festa. While the competition will be intense, fans still expect Solo Leveling to come out on top in 2026.
