Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle - Part 1: Akaza Returns is currently screening in movie theaters around the world and has already become a massive financial and critical success. Demon Slayer fans were initially worried about the prospect of having to wait several years to see the full animated adaptation of the series’ final arc, but the amazing production and unbelievable animation of this first film proved that it’s all going to be worth it.

But, of course, they still can’t help but be incredibly excited about Infinity Castle – Part 2, especially those who have read Koyoharu Gotouge’s original manga. It still hasn’t been confirmed how much of the story this second movie will cover, but based on what was adapted in Part 1, it’s safe to say that fans will finally get to see some of the most exciting and memorable moments of the Infinity Castle Arc on the big screen, and these are just some of the most highly anticipated examples.

Inosuke Arrives To Help Kanao

Kanao Receives Help From An Unexpected Ally

Inosuke breaks through the ceiling, just in time to save Kanao - Demon Slayer
  • Chapter 158: Chaos

In Infinity Castle – Part 1, fans not only got to see Shinobu Kocho’s tragic and gruesome death at the hands of Upper Rank Two, Doma, but the movie also left that plot thread on a massive cliffhanger as Kanao Tsuyuri arrived just in time to see her master being murdered in cold blood. Part 2 will most likely kick off with this intense and emotional encounter, but manga readers are well aware that there still is another character missing from this fight.

Inosuke Hashibira — everybody’s favorite boar-masked weirdo – breaks through the room's ceiling just in time to save Kanao from one of Doma’s powerful attacks. This is an ecstatic moment that also marks the beginning of one of the best fights in the entire series, and its animated adaptation will surely be just as exciting.

Kanao And Inosuke Defeat Doma

The Satisfying End Of One Of The Series’ Most Despicable Characters

Inosuke throws his katanas at Doma to help Kanao deal the final blow - Demon Slayer
  • Chapter 162: Trio of Victory

The entirety of Kanao and Inosuke’s fight against Doma is surely going to be a feast for the eyes, since Ufotable never disappoints when it comes to high-quality animated battles. But there’s one particular moment that most fans want to see on the big screen, and that is the young Demon Slayers’ heroic defeat.

Just when it seems like Doma has secured the victory with this giant ice statue, Kanao unlocks the final form of Flower Breathing and manages to reach his neck, but she’s not strong enough to cut through it, so Inosuke throws his own swords to help her deal the final blow in one of the series’ most epic and satisfying moments. Seeing this finishing move on the big screen is going to be amazing, and it’ll be elevated even further by Doma’s final moments and his reunion with Shinobu in the afterlife, right before he goes to hell.

Obanai And Mitsuri Find Nakime

The Serpent Hashira And The Love Hashira Will Finally Do Something

Obanai uses Serpent Breathing on Nakime - Demon Slayer
  • Chapter 164: Just Overdid It A Little

The Infinity Castle Arc is a very long story arc with a lot of different characters so, unfortunately, some of them didn't have much to do in the first movie. But this will finally change in Part 2, with the Serpent Hashira, Obanai Iguro and the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, being two of the most notorious examples.

While running around the castle together, they suddenly find and intercept Nakime, the new Upper Rank Four with space-bending powers that’s responsible for controling the Infinity Castle and turning it into such a massive and confusing place. While their fight is quite short in the grand scheme of things, seeing this Hashira duo jump into action is going to be very thrilling, especially when it comes Obanai, since (unlike Mitsuri) he still hasn’t had many opportunities to showcase his Serpent Breathing techniques in the show.

Kokushibo Uses Moon Breathing

Upper Rank Two Will Get To Showcase His Immense Strength

Kokushibo attacks Tokito with Moon Breathing Style - Demon Slayer
  • Chapter 165: Stunned and Trembling

Muichiro Tokito, Genya Shinazugawa, Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyomei Himejima vs. Kokushibo is undoubtedly one of the best and most exciting battles in the entire series, and manga readers can’t wait to finally see it adapted on the big screen. Not only will they get to see the Wind Hashira and the Stone Hashira clashing against a really powerful foe, but Upper Rank One will also prove that he’s worthy of his prestigious title.

Kokushibo is the sole user of the Moon Breathing Style, which he combines with this Blood Demon Art, Crescent Moon Blades, to unleash devastating techniques that can even keep up against four different Demon Slayers, three of which are Hashiras. Based on Ufotable’s usual quality standards, it’s safe to say that the animated version of Moon Breathing is going to look absolutely beautiful, and it’s going to make this fight even more interesting and memorable than it already is.

Genya Shinazugawa’s Tragic Death

One Of The Most Heartbreaking Moments In The Entire Series

Sanemi cries while Genya dissappears in front of him - Demon Slayer
  • Chapter 179: Feelings For Elder Brother, Feelings For Younger Brother

The Infinity Castle Arc is full of tragic and unexpected deaths of many beloved characters, but the final moments of Genya Shinazugawa after Kokushibo’s climactic defeat hit particularly hard, and it’s still widely considered one of the saddest moments in the series. Of course, it's not that fans actually want to see Genya die again, but this moment will most likely be adapted beautifully, while also closing off an emotional plot beat at the same time.

The relationship between Genya and his older brother, Sanemi, was quite tumultuous to say the least. Making the elder sibling sacrifice himself would have been the clichéd thing to do, but Koyoharu Gotouge turned this trope on its head by making Genya die before Sanemi’s eyes. Needless to say, his final moments are going to make moviegoers cry their eyes out when Part 2 comes out, especially his dying words: "My big brother... Is the nicest person in this world".

Muzan Kibutsuji Emerges From His Cocoon

The Final Boss Of The Series Will Join The Fray

Muzan kills a bunch of Demon Slayers - Demon Slayer
  • Chapter 180: Recovery

Even though he’s the main antagonist of the series, Muzan Kibutsuji didn’t really do much in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle - Part 1. After he was caught off guard by Ubayashiki’s explosion and was weakened by Lady Tamayo human-transforming drug, he spent the entire movie inside a flesh cocoon, hiding from the Demon Slayer corps while he desperately tried to nullify the effects of the aforementioned drug.

Fortunately, Infinity Castle – Part 2 will most likely conclude with his resurgence, and it’s going to be as epic as it's going to be terrifying. The scene of Muzan emerging from his cocoon with a slick new design, who then proceeds to kill Tamayo and slaughter many low-level Demon Slayers is absolutely bone-chilling, and it’s going to be one of the highlights of the second film, while also effectively cementing him as the final boss of the show that the heroes will have to take down in the third and final film.

Yushiro Hijacks Nakime

This Noble Demon Takes Control Of The Infinity Castle

Yushiro hijacks Nakime's control - Demon Slayer
  • Chapter 182: Rage

Based on his appearance in the first film, it’s safe to say that Yushiro has proven to be a key player in the events of the Infinity Castle Arc. Not only did he let Kiriya Ubuyashiki burrow his Blood Demon Art, so the Demon Slayer Corps could make a map of the always-growing castle, but he also saved Zenitsu’s life and healed his injuries after his battle against Kaigaku.

Fortunately, Tamayo’s loyal assistant will play an even bigger role in the upcoming second film. Shortly after the death of his beloved master, a determined Yushiro sneaks up behind Nakime while she’s fighting Obanai and Mitsuri and uses his Blood Demon Art to hijack her control of the Infinity Castle. This is not only an important moment that completely changes the tide of the war, but it leads Yushiro to fight Muzan himself for control over Nakime, and their confrontation is downright incredible.

The Beginning Of The Final Battle

Part 2 Will End In A Cliffhanger That Will Be Solved In Part 3

Muzan Kibutsuji is ready for the final battle - Demon Slayer
  • Chapter 184: Leaving the Warfront

Most Demon Slayer fans split the Infinity Castle Arc into two segments: the initial incursion to the titular castle and the subsequent conflict that takes place outside in the open, which is also colloquially known as the Sunrise Countdown Arc. While, of course, the long-awaited final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji will be covered in Infinity Castle – Part 3, Part 2 will most likely have an open ending that sets the stage for this climactic encounter.

Muzan grows impatient from his power struggle against Yushiro and his repeated clashes with the Hashira, so he decides to kill Nakime telepathically, which leads to the immediate destruction of the Infinity Castle. Once everyone’s outside, the Demon Slayers realize there’s still one and a half hours before the sun comes out, meaning that they’ll have to survive Muzan’s powerful attacks for a while if they want to defeat him, which is made even worse by the Demon King taunting and challenging them. This would be an excellent point to end the film, and it’ll leave moviegoers on the edge of their seats while they start waiting for the release of Part 3.
