In July 2025, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza’s Return premiered in theaters in Japan. Immediately upon release, this movie ended up becoming a major success, and since then, it has gone on to hit the international market, where it went on to smash many records, some held by its predecessor, Mugen Train.
Undoubtedly, Demon Slayer's Infinity Castle has been a huge hit, but now, it has over half a year since its release, and yet, this movie has yet to come to streaming platforms. Fans are frustrated with the wait for the streaming release of this absolutely phenomenal film. Unfortunately, the latest re-run of Infinity Castle in North American theaters practically guarantees a major delay when it comes to the streaming release of this movie, meaning fans hoping to watch it at home will have to wait even longer.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 Is Returning To Theaters In North America
It's undeniable that Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 has been the most successful anime movie of all time. This movie has broken records on an unprecedented scale, and even now, it is still generating a large amount of hype, as well as revenue for the studio. In fact, the success of Infinity Castle Part 1 has been so massive that the movie is making various returns to theaters even now. For example, not too long ago, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle was re-released in many theaters for a special IMAX release. Infinity Castle thus became the first anime movie ever to receive such treatment. This release has already started screening in Japan, and it's coming to North America in March 2026.

Not only that, but Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has also gotten a 4DX Special Breathing edition re-release as well. At the moment, this release is exclusive to Japan, but it could also spread worldwide in a couple of months. Needless to say, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is about to stay in theaters for a while longer, possibly the next couple of months, which means there is absolutely no way the movie will make it to streaming platforms.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 Streaming Release Will Take Even Longer
Since the release of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, fans have been waiting for the movie to finally drop on streaming services. Typically, most movies these days join streaming services after around three months of being in theaters. For example, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, a movie that was released two months after Infinity Castle, has already been on streaming services for two months now. However, it seems that Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle's streaming release date could be pushed back even further, and that is, of course, due to its re-release in theaters.
If Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is in theaters, then there is a strong incentive for it not make it to streaming platforms. The second fans get this movie on streaming platforms, interest in theater releases will drastically drop. In that sense, fans should not expect the movie to be available to watch at home until the re-releases stop.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 Should Finally be Available for Streaming In Late 2026
Information on the streaming release date for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part has been very limited. So far, the only major reveal concerning its streaming release comes from Mitchel Berger, the executive vice president of Crunchyroll. In his message last year, he told fans to go watch Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle in theaters. He claimed that this movie will not be available to stream until after 2025. At the very least, this message seems to confirm that this movie will indeed be hitting streaming services sometime in 2026.
“Go see [Demon Slayer Infinity Castle] in the theater because the theater is the only place you’re going to be able to see this film in 2025. If you want to see it, go see it in the theater because that’s the only place it’s going to be available.” — Mitchel Berger, Executive Vice President at Crunchyroll
Of course, that could also have changed after the continuous massive success, but it still stands as a realistic release date. Fans should expect Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 1 to finally hit streaming services, including Crunchyroll, in late 2026, possibly sometime after July.
