Demon Slayer is the biggest anime series at the moment, and no other series comes even remotely close. The series has become so big that it is a worldwide sensation today. Demon Slayer was always big, but the hype definitely died down for a while, until it was revived in full force with the newest movie, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 — Akaza’s Return. If fans thought Mugen Train was big, this movie took it to a whole other level and became the number one box office hit in Japan.

More success is to come for Demon Slayer as its next two movies are highly anticipated, but sadly, Demon Slayer’s own movie success has caused the downfall of its franchise by dragging a single arc into an endeavor of over six years.

  • Fans Have To Wait Over 6 Years For One Arc
  • The Infinity Castle Arc Could Have Been Covered in 1 to 2 Seasons Instead

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle was released back in July, and it’s safe to say that the movie was incredible. The animation and direction of this movie were top-notch, and most fans loved it, as seen with its huge box office success. This movie is only the beginning, however, as the next two movies of the trilogy are going to be just as big, if not bigger.

In theory, this sounds incredible, but this might just be the downfall of the series, at least for hardcore fans. While the quality of the movies is amazing, and there can be no doubt about that, there’s a huge issue to be raised. These movies are dragging a single arc for over six years. The Infinity Castle arc is definitely the most exciting part of the series, and having to wait over two years per movie to cover only a handful of chapters is definitely not ideal.

The Infinity Castle arc could have been adapted into one season, or perhaps two at worst. But instead, fans have to go through a long drag due to how profitable these movies are to the stakeholders.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s Success Will Change the Anime Industry

More Series Will Want To Capitalize On This Success

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s success won’t only impact the franchise itself. It will have rebounding impacts on the entire industry. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’s box office hit is unprecedented for an anime movie, and other franchises will definitely want to try and profit the same way. Fans should definitely expect other series in the future to turn hugely popular arcs into movies. It is unfortunate for those who grew up watching anime weekly, but that seems to be the direction anime is taking.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 is out in theatres now. Fans who don't want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus. Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll. The remainder of the series will be animated into movies, and fans will have to wait for their theatrical release to watch them, depending on their country.
