This article contains some spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen.
Right now, Demon Slayer is all the rage in the anime community, especially since the release of its newest and most anticipated movie, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 - Akaza’s Return. This movie has been breaking records everywhere it dropped, and it doesn’t seem this hype will be slowing down anytime soon. While Demon Slayer is big, it’s getting some competition, and very soon. Jujutsu Kaisen is returning as early as November with a new movie, and not long after, with a new season, which will take all the attention away from Demon Slayer.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Release Date: What to Expect
Demon Slayer fans are patiently waiting for the next movie, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2. Its release date might have already been revealed.
Demon Slayer is Big Right Now, But Jujutsu Kaisen is Returning
- JJK Movie Will Be Released In November
- JJK Season 3 Will Be Released January 2026
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 - Akaza’s Return was always expected to be a hit, but some fans had doubts it could surpass the previous biggest hit of Demon Slayer, the Mugen Train. Nevertheless, the Infinity Castle movie is on its way to surpass it, which could happen very soon, especially when global releases in countries like the USA drop.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: 7 Things To Expect
JJK season 3 is coming in 2026, and there is a lot to anticipate.
This is all good, but recent news means some big competition for Demon Slayer is coming. Recently, during a JJK live event, it was revealed that not only is Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 coming out very soon, in January 2026, but the series is also getting a brand new movie. This movie is coming out this November, which is only a few months away. This movie is going to recompile JJK’s Shibuya Incident, but more than that, it will also include the first two episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer are both huge series, but which is more popular has always been a debate among fans.
Can Jujutsu Kaisen’s New Movie Beat Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle?
JJK’s Anime Will Surpass Demon Slayer, But Beating The Movie Is Impossible
With a new Jujutsu Kaisen movie specifically coming out in a couple of months, fans are wondering if it could beat the Infinity Castle movie. This is, however, impossible to achieve. The new JJK movie coming out is just a recompilation of the Shibuya arc, something that has already been covered in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. It doesn’t really offer any new content, minus early access to Culling Game’s first two episodes. Due to that, it can’t compete with a Demon Slayer canon movie such as the Infinity Castle, or even Mugen Train.
To actually compete with Demon Slayer, JJK needs a good canon movie, something that will be hard to pull off. Ideally, a Gojo vs. Sukuna movie has the potential to break the Japanese Box Office record, or at least come close to that. Whether the studio will ever do that, however, is hard to say. Since fans know that the battle ends on a tragic note, it would therefore be a bit complicated to give a satisfactory conclusion.
Demon Slayer Mugen Train is already out in Japan, and will drop in most countries by September 12. Fans who don’t want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus. Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll. The remainder of the series will, however, be animated into movies, which fans will have to wait for their theatrical release to watch, depending on their country.
