Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Will Reveal The Truth About Inosuke's Childhood

The Boy Was Raised By Boars, But There's More To His Story

Ever since Inosuke was introduced in Demon Slayer, the boy has told everyone that he was raised by boars. Well, that part of Inosuke's life is true, as he, in fact, had a boar mother. That's the reason why he thinks of himself as a beast rather than a human. He wears a boar mask to remember his adoptive mother and acts more like an animal, but Inosuke is too simple-minded to ever think about his biological mother. Regardless, the naive boy learns about his real mother during the Infinity Castle arc; unfortunately, though, he learns the truth in the worst way possible.

The Infinity Castle arc will feature several interesting and much-awaited battles, one of them being Inosuke vs. Doma. Yes, our beloved boar-masked boy will go against the vicious and the most hated Upper Rank demon who likes to feed on the corpses of his female victims. During the fight, Doma, while insulting Inosuke, insists that he knows the boy from somewhere. Obviously, Inosuke says that he has never met Doma before, but shockingly, Doma reveals that the Upper Moon knew the boy's mother, Kotoha.

You have my gratitude for making me remember. Just cutting off your head won't be enough!! I'm gonna send you to hell - Inosuke to Doma.

Apparently, Doma became the leader of the Eternal Paradise Faith cult as a child and continued to operate the cult even after becoming a demon. On the surface, Doma used to listen to his followers' worries, but the cult members were nothing but victims for the Upper Rank. Kotoha stumbles upon the Paradise Faith cult after running away from his abusive husband. At the time, Inosuke was an infant, so Kotoha sought refuge by joining Doma's cult. But soon enough, Kotoha learned that Doma is a demon, and he had been killing and eating the cult members. She tried to run away while carrying Inosuke in her arms, but Doma caught up to her.

Kotoha was helpless, so the woman accepted her fate at the hands of Doma. However, she couldn't let the same fate befall Inosuke, so she threw the boy from the cliff into the river, hoping that the boy would survive. In the end, Inosuke ends up being found by a boar, who raises the boy to become the warrior he is today. On the other hand, Kotoha dies at the hands of Doma, who also eats the woman's corpse.

The Revelation About Inosuke's Mother Will Be A Heartbreaking Moment For Demon Slayer Fans

It Is Going To Be One Of Many Emotionally Devastating Moments In Infinity Castle

Ever since his introduction, Inosuke has been one of the most free-spirited characters in the Demon Slayer series. He doesn't care about anything except getting stronger and fighting more powerful enemies. The boy never talked about his past or showed emotional vulnerability while thinking about his boar mother. He used all the trauma to build rage and kill as many demons as he could. This very nature of Inosuke never really compelled fans to think about his origin. He is a strong demon slayer who was raised by boars — that was enough for us to love the character. That's exactly why the revelation about his biological mother will catch many fans off guard, and it will be one of the most heartbreaking reveals of the entire series.

No other Hashira has suffered as much personal loss as Gyomei Himejima.

To make things worse, Inosuke will start to remember his biological mother after Doma reveals the truth. Kotoha used to sing a song to Inosuke when he was an infant, and after this particular event, the boy started to remember that very song. Seeing Inosuke tearing up after learning about his mother won't be a great thing to witness for Demon Slayer fans. However, this revelation sparks anger in Inosuke's heart like never before, and this sudden flow of emotions makes the boy push past his limits. Inosuke charges at Doma not to simply kill him, but to make the Upper Rank Demon suffer and feel pain to the extent that he wishes for death.

Part 1 of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is scheduled to be released theatrically in the USA and Canada on September 12, 2025.
