The Infinity Castle arc is the penultimate story arc for the Demon Slayer series. Since the final story arc will focus on the big boss, Muzan Kibutsuji, the Infinity Castle will basically be the last all-out war between the demons and the demon slayers. Think of it as the modest version of One Piece’s Summit War.
Demon Slayer: Every Blood Demon Art That Will Appear In Infinity Castle, Ranked
These are the Blood Demon Arts from every major demon that you’ll see in the upcoming Infinity Castle arc of Demon Slayer.
Since this arc will feature every major fighter of the Demon Slayer Corps, we will get to see all sorts of Breathing Styles. In fact, out of fourteen known breathing styles in Demon Slayer, only two of them won’t make it to the Infinity Castle arc. So with that in mind, this is every breathing style that will appear in the Infiniy Castle arc, in no particular order.
Sun Breathing
Scorching Everything It Touches
- User(s): Tanjiro Kamado
- First Appearance: Episode 19
Let’s start with the origin of every breathing style, the Sun Breathing. The Sun Breathing was thought to die with its creator, Yoriichi Tsugikuni, but it was actually passed down for generations within the Kamado family as the Hinokami Kagura dance. As such, the only one who is capable of using this super-rare breathing style is Tanjiro Kamado.
Tanjiro has already mastered his original breathing style, the Water Breathing, but in the Infinity Castle arc, he will mostly use the Sun Breathing. He hasn’t mastered this legendary breathing style yet, but it is powerful enough to take out powerful demons, including one of the Upper Rank of the Twelve Kizuki.
Moon Breathing
Inflicting a Thousand Cuts with Every Swing
- User(s): Kokushibo
- First Appearance: Chapter 165
Moon Breathing is the first offshoot of the Sun Breathing. It was developed by Michikatsu Tsugikuni, the older brother of Yoriichi Tsugikuni. Unlike the Sun Breathing that will scorch everything it comes into contact with, Moon Breathing is all about slicing things apart into a thousand pieces.
Unfortunately, Michikatsu felt depressed because he couldn’t surpass his genius brother. That’s why he decided to accept Muzan’s offer of power and immortality, turning him into the Upper Rank One demon under the name of Kokushibo. In the Infinity Castle arc, Kokushibo will act as the final boss of the arc. He is the absurdly powerful demon that can fight four Hashiras at the same time and absolutely dominate them.
Stone Breathing
The Earth is Trembling with Every Attack
- User(s): Gyomei Himejima
- First Appearance: Episode 63
Stone Breathing is the breathing style of the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima. And he is also the only known user of this breathing style. Two things make Gyomei stand out from the other demon slayers. First, he is blind. Second, rather than the usual nichirin swords, his main weapon is a flail connected to an axe. Yet despite that limitation and differences, Gyomei Himejima is known as the strongest Hashira.
Every Demon Set to Appear in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc, Ranked
Fans have the following demon appearance to look forward to when it comes to Demon Slayer's Infinity Castle Arc.
In the Infinity Castle arc, Gyomei will showcase the full might of his stone breathing style against Kokushibo. The Upper Rank One demon may be one of the best, if not the best, swordsmen in the world right now, but even he is shocked by the sheer destructive power behind Gyomei’s relentless attacks. It’s as if the earth itself is trembling with every form of the stone breathing style.
Wind Breathing
A Tornado in Every Swing
- User(s): Sanemi Shinazugawa
- First Appearance: Episode 56
Wind Breathing is the breathing style of the Wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa. Similar to the moon breathing, this breathing style specializes in delivering powerful slashing attacks. But unlike the surgical precision of the moon breathing, wind breathing’s attacks are broader and rougher.
With this breathing style, Sanemi can produce high-powered whirlwind attacks that will knock multiple enemies down and slash them at the same time. In the Infinity Castle arc, Sanemi uses his wind breathing to pulverize countless low-level demons until he eventually fights against an Upper-Rank demon.
Mist Breathing
A Silent Kill from an Unseen Place
- User(s): Muichiro Tokito
- First Appearance: Episode 47
Mist Breathing is the breathing style of the Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito. It is a derivation of the Wind Breathing style that focuses more on obscuring one’s movements and delivering a swift and fatal attack. Compared to the original wind breathing that seeks to cause as much destruction as possible, just like a hurricane, mist breathing is all about executing a silent kill from an unseen place, like a gentle breeze in the cold winter mist that conceals the surrounding danger.
Tokito already showcased the full might of his deadly Mist Breathing in the previous arcs when he single-handedly slew Upper-Rank Five, Gyokko. In the Infinity Castle arc, Tokito will join forces with the other Hashira to take on an extremely powerful Upper Rank demon. As the wielder of a rather obscure breathing style, his attacks catch the enemy off guard, but he soon finds out that it will take more than that to beat his opponent.
Water Breathing
Flow Like a River, Hit Like a Waterfall
- User(s): Giyu Tomioka; Tanjiro Kamado
- First Appearance: Episode 4
As one of the original branches of the Sun Breathing, the Water Breathing is one of the oldest breathing styles in the series. Right up there with the Flame Breathing and Thunder Breathing. This breathing style is all about flow and flexibility. The wielder of this breathing style can unleash a devastating blow like a furious waterfall, weave a seamless chain of attacks that overwhelm like an ever-flowing river, and grant a swift, painless death like a gentle rain.
Strongest Characters Who Will Be in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
The Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle arc showcases many powerful warriors and demons, but these are by far the strongest characters from the arc.
There will be two Water Breathing users in the Infinity Castle arc. Tanjiro Kamado and the Water Hashira, Giyu Tamioka. Tanjiro mostly uses the Sun Breathing in this arc, but he will still occasionally use the Water Breathing. These two will team up against the same Upper Rank demon. The sight of two elite Water Breathing users moving together in unison to deliver a continuous barrage of attacks is simply breathtaking.
Serpent Breathing
A strike that slithers like a snake
- User(s): Obanai Iguro
- First Appearance: Episode 56
Serpent Breathing is the breathing style of the Serpent Hashira, Obanai Iguro. This breathing style is a derivation of the Water Breathing style. In particular, it focuses on the flowing nature of the water breathing and enhances it so that it can mimic the slithering movement of a serpent. Obanai Iguro is also one of the few Hashiras who uses a highly customized nichirin sword, one that has a twisted blade.
The combination of the unique blade and the unconventional movements enables Obanai to bend and twist his attacks in ways that are extremely hard to predict and parry. In the Infinity Castle arc, the Serpent Hashira will fight against the creator of the Infinity Castle, together with the Love Hashira.
Insect Breathing
Injecting a lethal dose of venom
- User(s): Shinobu Kocho
- First Appearance: Episode 20
Insect Breathing is the breathing style of the Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho. She is another Hashira who uses a highly modified nichirin sword, one that looks like a massive needle. You see, Shinobu is a petite woman with a relatively weak body. As such, she prefers to fight with deadly poison that can kill anyone in seconds, rather than using physical strength to behead the demons. Due to her unique needle-like sword, most of Shinobu’s attacks involve stabbing and thrusting, which mimic the movement of insects like bees or mosquitoes.
Shinobu Kocho will have one of the biggest character developments in the Infinity Castle arc. The story will reveal her past before she became a demon slayer, and how she eventually gets the chance to meet the Upper-Rank demon who took her sister from her. Her story will be exciting, inspiring, and heartbreaking as well.
Thunder Breathing
A Flashy and Electrifying Breathing Style
- User(s): Zenitsu Agatsuma; Kaigaku
- First Appearance: Episode 12
As mentioned earlier, Thunder Breathing is one of the original branches of Sun Breathing, just like Flame Breathing and Water Breathing. This breathing style specializes in speed. The user of this breathing style can move at lightning speed and behead a demon before they even realize what has happened to them. And just like real thunder and lightning, this breathing style can also produce a loud boom that deafens the enemies and paralyzes and even burns them.
Demon Slayer: Every Backstory That Will Appear in Infinity Castle Arc, Ranked
These are the tragic and surprising backstories that will be revealed in the Infinity Castle arc.
There will be two practitioners of the Thunder Breathing style in the Infinity Castle arc, Zenitsu Agatsuma and Kaigaku. Both are students under the same master, but one is a demon slayer while the other is the new Upper Rank Six of the Twelve Kizuki. The fast-paced and electrifying battle between these two will be one of the highlights of this arc.
Love Breathing
A Unique yet Mesmerizing Breathing Style
- User(s): Mitsuri Kanroji
- First Appearance: Episode 49
Love Breathing is the breathing style of the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji. It is a derivation of Flame Breathing. Both breathing styles base their attack powers on the burning passion of their wielders. In the case of Mitsuri, it’s the burning feeling of love. She also uses a custom-made nichirin sword that is long and highly flexible. Love Breathing utilizes Mitsuri’s strong and flexible body and her unique sword to deliver attacks that can cover a wide area.
The way she uses her sword is both elegant and powerful, just like a rhythmic gymnast who uses her ribbon to catch and attack her enemies from every direction. In the Infinity Castle arc, the Love Hashira will work together with the Serpent Hashira to take down the creator of the Infinity Castle. Her whip-like sword will play a crucial role in reaching the all-seeing Upper Rank Demon, who can alter the layout of the castle whenever she wants.
