Demon Slayer has enjoyed a phenomenal 2025 so far, and the series is on track to dominate the anime world this year. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 - Akaza’s Return was first released in Japan in July, and the hype hasn't slowed down since. The movie has gone on to break all records, and it even became Japan’s most successful movie ever. Even internationally, the movie has done incredible numbers, and it also went on to surpass other major releases, like Superman.
Demon Slayer: Every Demon in the Infinity Castle
The demons are ruthless in the Infinity Castle and ready to take on the Demon Slayers.
Demon Slayer’s unprecedented success as an anime movie definitely is deserving of its flowers. To commemorate the success of Demon Slayer this year, the creator of Demon Slayer, Koyoharu Gotouge, is making a comeback. The author will be creating a new illustration that will be revealed in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #52.
Koyoharu Gotouge Makes a Comeback With New Demon Slayer Illustration
The Demon Slayer manga officially concluded a while ago. The series received its final chapter 5 years ago, in 2020, and since then, Gotouge hasn't done much. As is quite clear, Gotouge hasn't gotten busy with any other projects since, but that's about to change.
Every once in a while, fans get something new from the author. Most recently, it was announced that Gotouge would be returning to drop a brand-new illustration. Fans don’t know what this new illustration by Koyoharu Gotouge will feature, but it's probably related to the first Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie. Fans are hoping to see Tanjiro again, and maybe some of the Hashira as well. Akaza, the main highlight of the movie, might also be featured.
Gotouge’s Demon Slayer Illustration Releases This Week In Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #52
New illustrations by Koyoharu Gotouge aren't a common occurrence, so fans are very excited. Thankfully, the wait for the illustration reveal won’t be long. This new Demon Slayer illustration will be revealed this very week. It will be featured in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #52, the final issue of the yearly publication cycle. Koyoharu Gotouge’s illustration will be the perfect way to end Weekly Shonen Jump’s cycle, and also to thank the fans for the brilliant support that they showed for Demon Slayer this year, making the franchise one of the biggest in all of anime history.
Fans Watching The Movie Can Receive A Print Of The Illustration
Fans are excited for the new illustration by Koyoharu Gotouge, but what’s even more interesting is that they might be able to get their hands on a print of this illustration. As was announced recently, this print will be handed over to fans watching the Infinity Castle movie in theaters moving forward.
7 Must-Watch Anime Movies Like Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is huge, but it isn't the only must-watch anime movie.
In order to soothe the spirits of those it killed, and to make sure it claims no further victims, I will swing my blade down and lop off the head of any demon without mercy! But I will not belittle those who regret their actions and suffer over the things they did as demons. Because demons were once human. Because they were like me.
For now, it’s unclear how many fans will be able to get their hands on this print, or if it’s limited to only some theaters. It is also unclear if it will be available outside of Japan. As soon as more information is available, we'll update you.
Gotouge's Illustration Could Be The Beginning Of A Bright Future
Koyoharu Gotouge’s return to Weekly Shonen Jump definitely surprised many, especially as the author doesn't do this often. The last new illustration fans received from Gotouge was to celebrate Black Clover’s 10th anniversary, but of course, that illustration had nothing to do with Demon Slayer.
You misunderstand, Tanjiro I only despise the weak. I only spit on weaklings. Yes. Weaklings make me sick. It is the law of nature that they be weeded out.
Now, Gotouge returns with a brand new Demon Slayer illustration, and fans can't wait for it. This illustration also means that Gotouge is, at the very least, open to drawing in Jump again. Since the end of Demon Slayer, the author hasn't drawn any other manga, and there hasn't been an update on their plans either. Hopefully, this illustration is a sign that Gotouge plans to return to Jump in the future.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 is out in theatres now. Fans who don't want to wait for the movies to drop can check the manga out on Manga Plus. Meanwhile, for the anime, the series currently has 4 anime seasons. These anime seasons can all be found on Crunchyroll.
