The characters in Demon Slayer are iconic in their own right, and many fans have shipped certain characters based on the bonds they've seen blossom between compatible pairs. These fans will be glad to know that most of the relationships in the series are eventually cemented by the end of the series following the final battle against Muzan, which is a treat for people who wanted to see the characters of Demon Slayer enjoy the happy endings they deserved after battling in life-and-death scenarios time and time again.

5 Tanjiro Kamado & Kanao Tsuyuri

The Seeds Of The Romance Are Sowed From Their First Meeting

Ever since the heartfelt moment that both Tanjiro and Kanao have shared in the series, fans can't wait to see this relationship be cemented. Tanjiro's chivalrous nature endears him to Kanao when he refuses to splash her with tea during his recovery. When he inquires as to why she needs to flip a coin to make decisions, Tanjiro encourages her to express her feelings and take matters into her own hands from time to time.

This show of compassion moves Kanao, and she is visibly affected by Tanjiro's state ever since. She sheds tears of joy when he wakes up following his battle in the Entertainment District and is relieved to see that Tanjiro saved her during a one-sided battle against Muzan. When Tanjiro is turned into a demon at the end of the series, Kanao risks blindness by using her strongest technique, Flower Breathing's Final Form: Equinoctial Vermilion Eye, to inject a cure and bring him back to the realm of humanity. After Muzan's defeat, she settles with Tanjiro and has a family, with their descendants shown at the end of the series.

4 Zenitsu Agatsuma & Nezuko Kamado

There's no doubt that Zenitsu is a weird character, flipping a switch from time to time that transforms him from a crybaby into a competent demon slayer who can take on the toughest foes without breaking a sweat. Even though his obsession with Tanjiro's sister can be borderline creepy in some instances, the fact that he's unapologetically attracted to her despite her demonic nature shows how pure-hearted this character is.

Nezuko can't reciprocate her feelings since she's a demon, leaving anime fans in the dark about her true feelings towards the Thunder Breathing user. Some hints are interspersed here and there, such as when she reacts positively to the stories Zenitsu used to tell her during their travels. After she turns back into a human, Nezuko remembers the time Zenitsu gave her flowers, eventually marrying him as the series drew to a close.

Thankfully, Nezuko steps in to save the day and removes the poison from Tengen's body, allowing the foursome to enjoy a happy ending after suffering at the hands of demons time and time again.

Not all love stories have a happy ending in Demon Slayer, as one would expect from a world ravaged by monsters who hunger for human flesh. Obanai is the Serpent Hashira and seems rather stoic and unemotional, only for Tanjiro to witness pangs of jealousy emanating from him when the Hashira talks about the glowing recommendation Mitsuri gave him. The assumption here is that these feelings are one-sided, but manga fans are well aware of the truth.

Mitsuri was more than aware of Obanai's admiring glances and found herself falling in love with him too. Unfortunately, their relationship wasn't meant to be, since both Hashira suffered fatal injuries during the final battle. After confessing their feelings to each other, they died in each other's arms in one of the series' most emotional moments.

While their interactions aren't all that apparent, it's clear that tending to Inosuke's injuries time and time again caused the duo to develop feelings for each other. They eventually marry and start a family by the end of the series after the threat of demons is eradicated for good.
