Deathverse: Let It Die is yet another battle royale to add to the ever-expanding list of them. But, unlike other BRs, Deathverse has an incredibly unique setting, style, and charm to it that fans of a certain little game called Let It Die might recognize. That's right, this game comes from the same developers (Supertrick Games) as Let it Die, the souls-like tower climbing free-to-play experience of 2018.

In Deathverse, combat is relatively similar to Let it Die, but all of the weapons have exclusive skills, passives, and levels that impact how one does in the Death Jamboree. So, let's take a look at how exactly players are meant to quickly level their weapons to get a leg up on the competition in Deathverse: Let It Die.

Why Weapon Level Matters

Deathverse is a game that explains the basic mechanics very well in the tutorial, but all of the advanced stuff is left up to the community to figure out, and Weapon Level was one of them.

Now, the reason why players will want to level up their weapons is three-fold:

  1. Doing so gives them a scaling (based on weapon level) passive GP bonus while using that weapon during the Death Jamboree.
  2. Certain Weapon Mastery passives for each weapon, newly crafted weapons in the same category, and even the Weapon Skill at level 30 are all dependent on Weapon Level in some way.
  3. Having different weapons leveled gives players more options to choose from when the Weapon of the Day rotates to new weapons each day.

With all that in mind, how are players meant to level up their weapons quickly?

To be as blunt as possible, the best way to level weapons in Deathverse is simply to play the game using that weapon. There's no "exploit" to use, no workaround to gain tons of bonus XP, players will just naturally gain it by using the weapon of choice in the Death Jamboree. Of course, players who use it more, get more kills, and play more often will level it faster, but that much should be obvious.

With that out of the way, let's look at the two actual ways players can prioritize weapon leveling while in a match:

  1. They can focus on finding mushrooms and killing cryptids with their weapon rather than fighting players (something people seem to be forgetting) as those are guaranteed ways to gain XP and they also power them up for the remainder of the match. This is the method best used by those who aren't all too confident in their combat skill.
  2. Alternatively, they can focus on keeping an eye on the mini-map in the top left as often as possible and chasing after any white dots that appear to take out other players. After all, the more fights one gets into, the more they're likely to use their weapon. This is the method most used by those who have Deathverse's combat down pat.

The one and only method of gaining a bit of bonus weapon XP outside of just playing normally are by using the Weapon of the Da y in Deathverse: Let it Die. To see what weapons have this buff, players just need to go into their Inventory and then look for three specific icons at the top left of any of their weapon previews:

  • Yellow Heart: Using this weapon gives the player a 10 percent bonus to their Star Rank XP.
  • Kill Coin: Gain 10 percent more Kill Coins while using this weapon.
  • Blue Heart: Gain 10 Percent more Weapon XP while using this weapon.

Obviously, the Blue Heart is the icon that matters here, as this weapon will be easier to level as long as this daily buff is active. Also, if players don't see any of these icons on their Inventory weapons, check the Crafting menu instead as this buff applies to weapons the player hasn't crafted yet as well.

Deathverse: Let It Die is available now on PS4, PS5, and PC.
