Death Stranding  has finally arrived on PC, giving a whole new group of players a chance to assist Sam Porter Bridges in his efforts to reconnect America. However, some fans are currently encountering technical issues with the title, and indeed stuttering appears to be the most pervasive problem at this time. For those players that may be experiencing stuttering when playing Death Stranding's PC release, this guide looks to provide assistance.

Before going into possible fixes to Death Stranding's stuttering on PC, it is worth mentioning that certain players report that this issue simply goes away after playing the game for an hour or so. Furthermore, some of the fans that initially experienced stuttering and then reached a point where it dissipated indicate that they have since gone back to play the preliminary sections of the game again and are now seeing no stuttering at all. Thus, players that are currently dealing with stuttering may just want to press on and see if it resolves over time.

Beyond that, fans that are using an Xbox controller to play Death Stranding  on PC are advised to turn off vibration. Indeed, this has reportedly resolved stuttering for some players, and while losing vibration is certainly not ideal, it may be better than dealing with the technical issue that this feature is seemingly creating.

Additionally, Death Stranding  players can try using something like RTSS to cap the game's FPS at 5 FPS below their display's refresh rate. For example, a fan that is using a monitor with a 165hz refresh rate can try limiting Death Stranding  to 160 FPS, as there is indication that this approach can solve the problem.

Players can also test different combinations of having VSync on and off in game and in their graphics control panel to see if there is any improvement. For full clarity, this would mean trying Death Stranding  with VSync off in game and on in the graphics control panel, trying it with VSync on in game and on in the control panel, and so forth.

To note, it is certainly possible that these suggestions will not resolve stuttering for every player. However, hopefully some fans will find success with what is outlined above, and they will be able to enjoy this unique title from Hideo Kojima without further problems.

Death Stranding  is available on PC and PlayStation 4.
