Kojima Productions has confirmed its presence at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show event, revealing that a special Death Stranding 2: On The Beach panel will be held on September 29 at 10:30 AM JST / 6:30 PM PT. The one-hour panel will feature numerous special guests, including Death Stranding 2: On The Beach director and creator, Hideo Kojima.
The last time fans were given a glimpse at a new Death Stranding 2 trailer was back in February during a PlayStation State of Play livestream. The nearly 10-minute trailer was as wild as expected, but did give fans a great glimpse into the story of Death Stranding 2 and Norman Reedus as the returning Sam Bridges. With the sequel aiming for a release sometime in 2025, fans are eager to see more. Thankfully, there's not long left to go until a new look at Death Stranding 2 is revealed.
Death Stranding 2 Already Has One Feature That's All But Officially Confirmed
Hideo Kojima has a unique way of designing games, which makes it easy to predict one aspect that will show up in Death Stranding 2.
While fans were hoping to see Death Stranding 2 appear at Gamescom, Kojima Productions has now confirmed that it will be attending Tokyo Game Show 2024 to host a special panel for its upcoming sequel. Although it is currently unknown whether or not a new gameplay trailer will be revealed during the panel, the one-hour slot will give attendees a front-row seat to "the latest update in the development" of Death Stranding 2. Alongside game director Hideo Kojima, the panel will feature plenty of special guests, including Japanese singer-songwriter Daichi Miura.
Death Stranding 2 Confirms Tokyo Game Show Presence
- September 29 at 10:30 AM JST / 6:30 PM PT
After Hideo Kojima himself teased a return to Tokyo Game Show back in July, fans were left wondering if his appearance would be related to Death Stranding 2, given that Kojima has multiple other projects currently in the works. Now the auteur has announced his presence at the gaming event, while also noting on Twitter that this will be the first time in five years that he has appeared on stage at Tokyo Game Show.
Despite Kojima Productions having a total of three projects in development, Death Stranding 2 is the closest to release. While the upcoming sequel will once again be exclusive to PlayStation, the studio is also working on an Xbox-exclusive horror game known as OD. Not much is known about the project, but it did receive a short teaser trailer during 2023's Tokyo Game Show. As for Kojima's third project, it was announced in January that the studio is working on a new action-espionage game in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment. With Death Stranding 2 at the forefront of Kojima Productions, development on its new action-espionage game won't begin until the sequel has been released.
