Death Stranding 2: On the Beach sees players assume the role of Sam Porter Bridges once again, as he ventures beyond the UCA in an attempt to connect new territories to the Chiral Network. Along the way, players will make use of all manner of different weapons, consumables, and other items to help take care of BTs, enemies, and tricky terrain. Those who preordered the game or purchased the Deluxe Edition will get a helping hand in the form of various bonus DLC items, cosmetics, and early unlocks. However, it isn't made clear how any of these can be obtained in the game itself.
This guide will explain everything players need to know about how to get all preorder and Deluxe Edition bonus items in Death Stranding 2.
Should You Play Death Stranding 1 Before Playing DS2?
Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding universe is pretty complex and narratively dense. So, should players play Death Stranding 1 before its sequel?
How to Redeem Death Stranding 2 Preorder and Deluxe Edition DLC
Before you load up Death Stranding 2, you want to make sure that you have redeemed the code and downloaded the bonus content onto your PS5.
If you purchased the game digitally, any bonus content from preordering or buying the Deluxe Edition should be downloaded to your console alongside the base game.
For those purchasing a physical copy of the game, there should be a 12-digit code that you'll need to redeem via the 'Redeem Code' option on the PlayStation Store. Once you have confirmed that you're redeeming the content, it should only take a moment to install onto your console before you're ready to load up the game.
The Deluxe Edition code should be found on a slip within the game case. The preorder DLC's code is more likely to come via email or on a piece of receipt paper

How to Get All Preorder and Deluxe Edition Items in Death Stranding 2
The bonus DLC items are unlocked at different stages throughout your journey. Below, I've outlined when each collection of items is unlocked in your adventure in Death Stranding 2:
Machine Gun [MP] LV1
The Machine Gun [MP] LV1 is unlocked after reaching the Ciudad Nudo del Norte base (the first one you visit in Mexico) and activating the Chiral Network Gateway. It can then be fabricated for 80 Resins and 120 Metals.
Patch 70: Quokka, Patch 71: Chiral Feline, Patch 72: Why Me?
All three of these patches are unlocked at the same time, once you reach the Ciudad del Norte base in Mexico and have activated the Chiral Network Gateway. Once this is done, players can choose the 'Customize Backpack' option when looking at their backpack in their room and select 'Fabricate' to create each of the patches. Each one requires five Chiral Crystals to make.
Custom Hologram: Quokka
The Quokka hologram is unlocked early once players get access to the Structure Customization feature.
Battle, Boost, and Bokka Skeletons: Silver and Gold
The skeletons are unlocked as you progress through the main storyline of the game. It's worth noting that, like the Machine Gun [MP] LV1, you'll need to fabricate each of the skeletons once they're unlocked. The Silver and Gold skins will be unlocked at the same time. We've listed the point players need to reach in the story to unlock each one below:
- Battle Skeleton: Obtained from Luke Gates at the Western Environmental Observatory. This is one of the first missions you'll do in Australia, likely the second Prepper you will connect to.
- Boost Skeleton: Obtained from The Dowser, which is Order #21.
- Bokka Skeleton: Obtained from East Fort Knot (F4), which you'll likely visit for Order #30.
