While the gameplay for Death Stranding 2 is pretty straightforward, you are given an impressive assortment of tools and tech to get the job done and make countless deliveries across both Australia and Mexico. You will not be lacking choices when it comes to how you approach a given situation, but that can be an issue in and of itself. You may get a shiny new weapon as a reward, but you won't know how to effectively utilize it until you've gotten some practical experience with it.
While some players prefer the trial-by-fire approach, it can often be beneficial to train in a controlled environment. This is exactly what you can do with the VR Training Room in Death Stranding 2.
Minor spoilers in images, proceed with caution.
All Difficulty Option Differences in Death Stranding 2
Death Stranding 2 has a few difficulty options for players to select, but which of them is right for your playstyle, and what will it affect?
Where to Find the VR Training Room in Death Stranding 2
You can find the VR Training Room almost anywhere in the game where you have access to a Private Room. This includes player-built Safe Houses, onboard the DHV Magellan, and at any major facility. No matter which place you access the VR Training Room, you will find all the same training exercises.
While at a major facility, access the terminal and select "Facility Features". This menu allows you to enter your Private Room and also access the VR Training Room.
How to Use the VR Training Room in Death Stranding 2
Once you've entered the VR Training Room, you will have access to a new menu with the following options:
- Porter Fundamentals Program
- Porter Mastery Program
- Weapons/Combat Training Program
- Ghost Mech Archive
Porter Fundamentals Program allows you to practice all the basic tutorials and other relevant information you would need. The Porter Mastery Program consists of a variety of timed score attack modes where you try to get the highest score possible in the shortest amount of time. The Weapons/Combat Training Program is just a firing range where you can test out any weapon that you have gained access to. Finally, the Ghost Mech Archive allows you to view 3D models of these fearsome new foes.
Are There Any Rewards In The VR Training Room?
In the previous game, there were medals and resources you could earn depending on how well you did in the challenges. Unfortunately, that is not the case for Death Stranding 2. When you complete any of the challenges in the Porter Mastery Program, you get Likes based on your performance. The better you do, the more Likes you get. You can also get a Trophy, as depicted in the image above. So, other than that, the VR Training Room is just a space for you to practice and maybe brag to your friends about your score.
