Deadpool & Wolverine is set to be one of the biggest movies of the year, and its premiere is almost here. With anticipation building, the hype is fueled by new rumors of potential cameos. Fans are now speculating that Blade might make an appearance, but not in the way they initially expected.
In promotional photos released a few days ago by Total Film, fans have noticed a familiar-looking figure in the background. Just behind Deadpool, there appears to be a figure in a long black coat resembling Blade. While this is rumored to hint at a cameo, it is not what you might think. The theory is that this is not Mahershala Ali's or Wesley Snipes' version of Blade, but rather a different incarnation. Surprisingly, fans believe this might be the Blade played by rapper/actor Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones or possibly another variant yet to be seen. Although this is intriguing, nothing has been confirmed yet.
It is highly unlikely that either Ali or Snipes will be making an appearance in the upcoming movie. The Blade reboot has faced numerous difficulties for years, casting doubt on whether the film will ever be released. Therefore, seeing Ali debut as Blade is almost impossible. As for Snipes, his history with Ryan Reynolds complicates matters. Both actors were part of the original Blade trilogy, but their relationship has been strained ever since. Reports suggest that Wesley did not get along well with his co-stars, including Reynolds. Instead, fans speculate that this might be another version of Blade, specifically one that is less discussed. Following Blade: Trinity, the Blade TV series, starring Sticky Fingaz as the vampire hunter, aired but only lasted 12 episodes before being canceled. Despite being the most-watched original programming premiere on Spike TV at the time, the series failed to secure another season. Given these circumstances, fans theorize that this could be Reynolds subtly poking fun at Snipes and their troubled relationship. Alternatively, it might be another variant of Blade or simply a lookalike, serving as a humorous element within the movie's plot.
Deadpool & Wolverine is not shy about the fact that there will be numerous cameos in the movie. At this point, a Blade cameo might not even be a shocker, but it remains uncertain. So far, several cameos from various corners of the Marvel universe have been confirmed. Among the confirmed roles are familiar faces like Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), and even the duo of Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) and Dopinder (Karan Soni). However, there are still several more rumored cameos that fans are eagerly anticipating confirmation of. Will Blade be one of them? That is a question fans will have to wait until the premiere to find out.
