The nine-year-old PlayStation 4 version of the Deadpool video game is suddenly way more expensive than it used to be. The Deadpool video game was first released for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in 2013. Due to expiring licenses, the Deadpool game was delisted from all digital storefronts in 2014. It was then remastered for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2015 but was once again removed due to expiring licenses just a couple of years later.
It's been a whopping seven years since the last time Deadpool fans were able to buy the video game digitally, forcing anyone interested to stick with physical secondhand copies. Physical copies of delisted video games tend to go up in price, but the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Deadpool are getting even more ridiculously expensive than ever before.

It seems likely that the game's prices are going up so high because of the huge success of the Deadpool & Wolverine movie. Deadpool & Wolverine has smashed box office records and grossed over $438 million worldwide in its first weekend alone. It stands to reason that there may be some interested in playing a video game starring the Merc With a Mouth after seeing the movie, hence the ballooning price of used physical copies.
Deadpool Video Game Prices Are Getting Out of Control
It's a shame that the Deadpool video game isn't readily available on digital storefronts, but there's always a chance it could return one day. Perhaps Marvel and Activision will see the increased interest in the game and work out some kind of deal to re-release it a second time. After all, native PS5 and Xbox Series X versions could definitely drum up some more interest in the game. Nothing to that effect has been announced, though, and so fans who can't wait for a potential re-release will have to pay quite a bit to get their hands on a copy of the game.
As for the game's quality, the Deadpool game earned somewhat mixed reviews at the time of its release. It was praised for nailing the Deadpool character, but many felt that the gameplay was a little too repetitive and uninteresting. Perhaps a brand-new Deadpool video game would be even better than another remaster of this older title, but who knows if that will ever happen. For now, Marvel is teaming with Insomniac on games like Wolverine, and it also has projects like the Marvel Rivals hero-shooter in the works as well.
