Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, speaks up on the future of the Deadpool  movie franchise now that it is in the hands of Marvel. Unfortunately for fans of the merc with a mouth, it seems like the future isn't so bright, as Liefeld isn't happy with the direction that Marvel is going.

According to Liefeld, Marvel has zero plans for a Deadpool  movie right now, and he further states that even if they did, the movie would take four years to come out at least. This claim seems to be backed up by the fact that Deadpool and the rest of the X-Men are absent from the MCU's phase 4 plan.

That said, though Liefeld created Deadpool, he doesn't know everything that's going on with the third Deadpool  movie. It seems as though this is more him revealing his frustrations that the character has seemingly been forgotten about.

Each of the other Deadpool  movies came out two years apart, with Deadpool  releasing in 2016 and Deadpool 2  releasing in 2018. If Deadpool 3  was coming, fans would have expected to see it this year, or at least hear something about it, but so far, there is no news.

Deadpool  is available on DVD now.
