Deadpool & Wolverine has a relatively simple plot to follow which is saying something since it is filled with Marvel characters. Deadpool is celebrating his birthday when TVA Agents appear out of nowhere to abduct him. Paradox, the leader of this section of the TVA, wants Deadpool for a job.
10 Best Quotes in Deadpool & Wolverine
Deadpool and Wolverine make for a brilliantly violent and crude duo in the MCU's first R-rated movie, providing some great dialogue to be remembered.
Deadpool refuses and tries to resurrect Wolverine instead, the version who died in Logan. When that goes sideways, Deadpool has to traverse the multiverse for a new Wolverine and then the true hijinx of Deadpool & Wolverine begins. There is so much more to the story beyond this but that would require spoilers. For now, here are some brutal kills that stood out as highlights in the movie.

6 The TVA Agents
They Messed With The Wrong Messiah
The opening to Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the most memorable in the series. Deadpool digs up the corpse of Logan, the version from the movie Logan, who is a husk of a person at this point. Deadpool starts to hack apart Logan’s body to use against the invading TVA agents. From his knuckles to his leg bones, they are all weapons for Deadpool.
It’s a bit unnerving to see Logan ripped apart like that but it is funny. There are a lot of memorable TVA agent deaths including the two Deadpool gets Logan’s claws stuck in from groin to butt. Bouncing his katana off the ground and into the lead TVA agent is also quite brutal but the cherry on top of this scene is Deadpool dancing to *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” song.
5 Sabertooth
Died As Quickly As He Arrived
Sabertooth is Wolverine’s long-standing rival in the comics and in many of the X-Men movies. They face off in The Void in Deadpool & Wolverine which Deadpool hyped up only for it to end in a quick dual. The two rivals run past each other like in a samurai movie and with a quick cut, Sabertooth’s head lobs off with Wolverine standing proudly as the victor.
Not missing a beat, Deadpool grabs Sabertooth’s head and starts talking with it comedically. He asks where Furiosa is as if Sabertooth was Chris Hemsworth’s character in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Dementus. It’s a good series of jokes fueled by a grim death in the film as Sabertooth is quickly kicked to the proverbial curb.
4 Johnny Storm
Skin Off!
One of the biggest surprises in Deadpool & Wolverine is Chris Evans’ cameo in The Void. At first, it seems like he is reprising his role as Captain America. The movie subverts Deadpool’s expectations as Evans screams, “Flame On!” Soaring to the sky to fight back Mutants. Evans was playing Johnny Storm from the first two Fantastic Four movies and not Captain America.
After this intro, Johnny Storm, Deadpool, and Wolverine are captured by the Mutants and are taken back to Cassandra Nova’s compound. It is here that Cassandra, the twisted sister of Charles Xavier, demonstrates her power by removing Johnny Storm’s skin in an instant. It is easily the most brutal death in the movie as Johnny Storm’s organs flop to the ground much to the dismay of Deadpool and Wolverine.
3 Juggernaut
Discarded Marvel Heroes Kick Back
There is another set of cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine that should make fans of the entire slate of Marvel movies jump for joy. Elektra, Blade, Gambit, and X-23 from Logan are all part of the resistance that Johnny Storm was under. After an impassioned speech by Deadpool, the classic heroes help storm Cassandra’s compound. Unlike Deadpool’s X-Force team from Deadpool 2, these heroes actually do something in Deadpool & Wolverine and don’t just die for a joke.
Elektra and Blade do some nice hacking and slashing. Gambit explodes a whole lot of villains using his cards complete with gore effects. Among the deaths in this scene, X-23 gets the best comeback as she slices the heels of Juggernaut and then decapitates his head. Thanks to her gnarly efforts, Deadpool and Wolverine manage to quell Cassandra’s psychic powers long enough to make a deal with Juggernaut’s helmet in place.
2 Nicepool
Say Goodbye To That Sweet Hair
Nicepool is one of the Deadpool variants in the movie. He wears a similar costume but he has no mask, no scars, and more importantly, Nicepool has a beautiful mane of hair. He’s also incapable of harming others hence his name. One of the last action scenes of the movie has a whole army of Deadpool variants that come after Deadpool Prime and Wolverine.
Deadpool Prime uses Nicepool to shield him from bullets, thinking he can regenerate like the others. Unfortunately, Nicepool lacks that superpower and not only dies from bullet wounds, but his head explodes. It’s a shocking moment to be sure but thankfully Dogpool is not harmed in this shootout as Wolverine mockingly uses him as a shield.
1 Cassandra Nova
She Didn’t See That Coming
It would have been fitting if this was Deadpool’s last movie. He’s too powerful of a character to exist in the MCU and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine already retired from the character once. Giving them deaths based on sacrifice to save everyone would have been fitting. However, as they combined their powers to stop Cassandra, they lived while she died.
Cassandra didn’t die in a massive explosion of gore which would have been par for the course though. Instead, she is vaporized by the very time power she was trying to harness. There are ways she could have survived, like Deadpool and Wolverine, but for now, let’s count it as a death by time itself.
