The game offers 6v6 team-based matches where players control heroes trying to destroy the opposing team’s “patron,” much like any other MOBA. The game has been compared to titles like Dota 2, Overwatch, and Team Fortress 2, blending hero shooter and MOBA mechanics. One important difference is the third-person perspective in Deadlock, which sets it apart from the first-person orientation of other Valve games. Despite not having been released yet, Deadlock has been very popular on Steam, amassing a large number of players during its beta phase, mainly due to its engaging gameplay and visual style. Taking to Reddit, user atahutahatena told the community that during a recent stream from Deathy, a Deadlock streamer, he accidentally flashed a screenshot of a build featuring a roster of characters that seems much more developed than the lineup currently available through Deadlock's alpha invites. This has further fueled the theory among fans that there is an even more secret “pre-pre-alpha” playtest of the game that Valve is carrying out behind the scenes. After accidentally revealing the roster, the streamer ended the transmission, deleted the VOD, and reportedly started a new stream while ignoring players commenting in the chat about what had just happened.

Deadlock Leak Reveals Expanded Hero Roster

This leaked roster includes many more heroes and updated designs for characters that are not available in the “official” Deadlock build following the latest big update. On top of that, Reddit user Nootmare shared more Deadlock insider leaks that emerged recently, revealing that the highly awaited open beta of the game will “most likely” be available in July. It’s worth emphasizing that this is just a leak and no official information has been revealed on Valve’s end.

In addition to the Deadlock leaks, there were also hints about the long-awaited title Half-Life 3, as one of the leakers claimed to have seen another game via Steam that is “the game you think it is.” There is no concrete proof of this, though players are theorizing about the potential meaning of that statement.
