To play Dead Island 2's Haus DLC, players need to own the base game of Dead Island 2, which comes as either a Standard, Deluxe, or Gold Edition. The Gold edition already includes the Dead Island 2 Expansion Pass that contains two Dead Island 2 story expansions, including Haus and some extras, like the Red's Demise Katana weapon.
However, players who don't already own Dead Island 2's Haus DLC can buy it separately from the Epic and Xbox stores or purchase the Expansion Pass for access to both DLCs if preferred, with the second DLC called SOLA Festival launching in Q2, 2024.
How To Unlock And Begin Dead Island 2 DLC
The Downloadable Content tab within Extras in the game's main menu gives players more information on how to begin Dead Island 2's Haus DLC. To start Haus, players should select 'Continue' followed by 'Play' to carry on with their previous game save file and ensure they have previously completed the Dead Island 2 Quest 'Room Service For Major Booker' to unlock Haus DLC.
Once loaded in, players should head for the orange circle icon in Bel Air marked on the map using Dead Island's 2 fast-travel mechanics. The circle marks the location of the Haus invitation found on a table in Emma's mansion, with players picking up the invitation to begin the DLC and transport them directly to Haus.

It takes around three hours to beat Dead Island 2's Haus DLC. Once inside the house, players move from a creepy, cultist mansion to its inner fake-perfect-style neighborhood towards a forest and pig-themed diner and beyond as Haus' various locations gradually reveal themselves. There are also several boss fights as players progress, with one of the main attractions for many players being getting hold of the crossbow of the Dead Island 2 Haus DLC weapons.
As per the base game, there are also locked boxes for players to open, such as the White Latex Car Key, which could extend the playtime somewhat for some players. There are also several collectible Haus journals for players to find as they explore.
