However, Resident Evil fans were quick to point out the detail’s nod to the zombie franchise. Wesker was introduced as a Killer in Dead by Daylight during Chapter 25: Resident Evil: Project W, a DLC released back in August 2022.

Dead by Daylight recently hosted a crossover with Resident Evil, welcoming iconic characters from the Capcom franchise into the special, limited-time gameplay, alongside a new map addition. The event ran between February 10 and February 25, allowing players to control the Killers in 2v8 matches, such as Nemesis and The Mastermind, but fans noticed something off about the latter character that caused laughter to erupt.

The Killer is shown leaning forward while sprinting, but the run is heavy and appears slowed down, which quickly became the butt of players’ jokes. Albert Wesker’s strategies are tricky to learn in Dead by Daylight, but the villain’s dream-like run took his threat level down a notch.
