Though it doesn't get nearly as much recognition as Fortnite, Dead by Daylight has been one of the leading names when it comes to video game crossovers for the best part of a decade. Over the last nine years, Dead by Daylight has collaborated with a variety of IP, ranging from groundbreaking horror franchises like Alien, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street, to fellow video games like Tomb Raider, Castlevania, and Alan Wake.
While every fan has their own personal favorite, some of Dead by Daylight's most undeniably impressive crossovers are its two Resident Evil chapters. Along with a Raccoon City Police Department map, Dead by Daylight's Resident Evil chapters added Albert Wesker and Nemesis as Killers, and Leon, Jill, Ada, and Rebecca Chambers as Survivors, all of whom came with unique Perks inspired by the source material. No collab has ever received more than two separate DLC chapters in Dead by Daylight's long history, but if one franchise was going to be the first, it should be Resident Evil.
Dead By Daylight: 5 Best Killers To Unlock First
Every killer in Dead by Daylight plays differently, and it will benefit new players to focus on unlocking some over others.
What a Third Resident Evil x Dead by Daylight Crossover Could Include
A New Resident Evil Killer in Dead by Daylight
If a third Dead by Daylight x Resident Evil crossover happened, it would likely follow the formula of its two predecessors. This means fans could probably expect to see one new Killer, two new Survivors, and potentially a new map all inspired by Capcom's long-running survival horror franchise.
As just mentioned, Dead by Daylight's previous RE crossovers added Nemesis and Wesker to the game. Nemesis' presence in DbD would likely rule out the appearance of any other similarly functioning Bio Organic Weapons, such as Mr. X or the original game's Tyrant. Instead, a third Dead by Daylight x Resident Evil collaboration might want to tap into an era of the franchise it hasn't explored at all yet: Resident Evil 7 and Village.
Though Resident Evil 7 and Village aren't perfect games, they have plenty of standout moments, many of which directly involve some now-iconic franchise bosses. Resident Evil 7's Jack Baker would make for a great Dead by Daylight Killer, wielding a gigantic pair of garden shears and being able to regenerate and recover from Survivor items quickly.
Resident Evil Village's Lady Dimitrescu would also be a great choice for a DbD crossover Killer, gaining a natural height advantage and earning a stat boost after consuming the blood of her prey. Mother Miranda would be another good pick, being able to shapeshift and fly around the Trial.
New Resident Evil Survivors in Dead by Daylight
Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, and Rebecca Chambers all have full spots on Dead by Daylight's Survivor roster already, and Chris Redfield, Carlos Oliveira, Claire Redfield, and Sheva Alomar all appear as alternate costumes. But there are still a ton of iconic Resident Evil characters who could be added in future Dead by Daylight DLC.
If the hypothetical DLC focused on Resident Evil 7 or Village, it would make a lot of sense for Ethan Winters to be added as a new Survivor, though developer Behaviour Interactive would have to find a creative way to obscure the character's face, as is RE tradition. For a more classic Resident Evil Survivor, DbD could add fan-favorite character Barry Burton, alongside a perk that references his role as Alpha Team's weapons supplier.
A New Resident Evil Map in Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight has just one Resident Evil-inspired map thus far, and while it's a great one, there are countless other series locations that would make great Trial arenas. The most obvious pick would be the original Resident Evil's Spencer Mansion, complete with Cerberus jumpscares and all the labyrinthine hallways fans have committed to memory.
