Dead by Daylight is getting a new killer soon in the form of The Deathslinger. Armed with a modified harpoon gun that he uses to rope in his victims, The Deathslinger should prove to be one of the more formidable killers on the Dead by Daylight roster. Those that want to add The Deathslinger to their Dead by Daylight killer roster can do so beginning March 10 when he comes to the game as part of the Chains of Hate expansion for $7.99.

While The Deathslinger won't be added to Dead by Daylight's roster of killers until March 10, he is currently playable in the PTB. That means Dead by Daylight players on PC can test The Deathslinger early, and thanks to that, we now have a full list of the new killer's perks and abilities.

The Deathslinger's Perks include Gearhead, Dead Man's Switch, and Hex: Retribution. Gearhead highlights generators that are in the process of being repaired, whereas Dead Man's Switch revolves around the new killer's hook. Players can hook the survivor they become "obsessed" with, and for the next 35 seconds, any generator that survivors stop repairing will be blocked until the effect ends.

The Deathslinger's Hex: Retribution will also prove useful to players. With it, whenever a survive cleanses a Dull Totem, they will be hit with the Oblivious status effect for 35 seconds. If the survivors cleanse any Hex Totem, then every survivor in the game will be revealed to The Deathslinger for a 10 second period.

In the right hands, it seems like The Deathslinger can be hugely effective in Dead by Daylight. Considering this, it's possible that Behaviour Interactive will change things up before the Dead by Daylight new killer is added to the full game. After all, Behaviour has consistently supported the game, releasing new Dead by Daylight updates on a regular basis, and that includes balance patches.

Looking ahead, it's likely that there will be more Dead by Daylight balance updates in the future, not to mention more substantial DLC like the Chapter 15: Chains of Hate update. It's possible some of this new content will be based on existing horror franchises, like we saw with the Stranger Things  DLC, but that remains to be seen.

In the meantime, here is the full rundown of the Dead by Daylight new killer Deathslinger's perks:

Gearhead

-You've got an ear for well-oiled gears.

-After hitting a Survivor 2 times with your basic attack, Gearhead activates for 35 seconds.

-Each time a Survivor completes a Good or Great Skill Check while repairing, the generator will be revealed by a yellow aura for as long as it's being repaired.

Dead Man's Switch

-You become obsessed with one Survivor.

-After hooking the Obsession, Dead Man's Switch activates for the next 35 seconds.

-While activated, any survivor that stops repairing a generator before it is fully repaired causes The Entity to block the generator until Dead Man's Switch's effect ends.

-Affected generators are highlighted by a white aura.

-The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

Hex: Retribution

-A hex that lashes out upon its destruction. Those who cross you will be punished.

-Any Survivor who cleanses a Dull Totem will suffer from the Oblivious status effect for 35 seconds.

-If any Hex Totem is cleansed, including this one, the auras of all Survivors are revealed for 10 seconds.

Dead by Daylight is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a mobile release coming later this year.
