Dead by Daylight has gone through some rather significant changes in recent months. Behaviour Interactive recently overhauled the asymmetric multiplayer game's progression system, which allows Dead by Daylight players to earn Perks more easily. As with any major progression system changes in live-service games, there are often unintended consequences that need to be addressed later. That's why Behaviour is now confirming its plans to dramatically reduce the cost of Dead by Daylight's Bloodweb nodes.

In the upcoming 6.2.0 update for Dead by Daylight, Behaviour plans to cut the cost of Bloodweb nodes by around 33%. It's a dramatic shift to a major progression system in Dead by Daylight. However, it's not intended to make unlocking Bloodweb nodes easier. Rather, it's a fix intended to return Bloodweb node progression between matches to where it was prior to the recent Perk and Prestige changes.

The problem is that with the Perk reworks, Behaviour removed Bloodpoint bonuses from two key popular Dead by Daylight Perks. Barbecue and Chili, as well as We're Gonna Live Forever, were both commonly used by players to up their Bloodpoint income. Without those bonuses, Behaviour admits that players were unable to unlock as many Bloodweb nodes. As such, all Bloodweb nodes will cost around 33% fewer Bloodpoints in an upcoming update. Behaviour wants to ensure Dead by Daylight players have just as much access to the Items, Add-ons, and Offerings that are rewarded from Bloodwebs as before.

Behaviour goes on to explain that it believes this is the most efficient way of correcting the issue stemming from the Perks changes. It did initially evaluate rewarding more Bloodpoints, but decided that making the Bloodpoints that players already have and are familiar with more valuable was a better choice than rewarding more of a currency that felt less valuable.

The Bloodpoint changes are, to repeat, not available yet. Behaviour plans to include the changes in an upcoming update, specifically the Resident Evil: PROJECT W Chapter update. The new Chapter's release is tentatively planned for August 30. Needless to say, it's going to be a very impactful update overall.

That gives Dead by Daylight players about a week to stock up on Bloodpoints before the update arrives. Since Bloodweb nodes will be cheaper after the update, that means players will get more value out of their purchases compared to spending them now. Thrifty Dead by Daylight players should hold off to get the most out of their time.

Dead by Daylight is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
