Dead by Daylight has announced plans for crossovers with two other major franchises in Five Nights at Freddy's and The Witcher. One of the most popular asymmetrical horror experiences in gaming, Dead by Daylight is no stranger to crossover content, but the announcement of two collaborations with franchises as big as these is nearly unheard of.

In early April, Dead by Daylight launched its crossover with Tokyo Ghoul. The game's version 8.6 update brought anime protagonist Ken Kaneki to the game as a Killer dubbed The Ghoul, terrorizing Survivors with his Kagune Leap special ability and hindering them with his Nothing But Misery hex.

It may have taken three reworks and nearly eight years, but Dead By Daylight's most lethal killer is quietly shaking up the meta.

Now, the developers at Behaviour Interactive have revealed plans for the game's future to fans at PAX East, which include Dead by Daylight's collaboration with Five Nights at Freddy's and The Witcher. The FNAF content is planned as the game's ninth anniversary chapter and will bring the terrifying decayed yellow rabbit animatronic, Springtrap, to the game as a new Killer. Even those who have never dipped into the games may be familiar with Springtrap from the climactic scene in the 2023 film adaptation, and Behaviour revealed that fans have requested Springtrap's addition more than any other outside character. The anniversary chapter will include a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza map, and movie actor Matthew Lillard will be lending his likeness and recorded voice lines to the game.

Dead by Daylight Announces Two Major Collaborations

Along with the FNAF chapter, fans can look forward to the game's upcoming Witcher Collection, which will provide skins for some of the most popular characters from CD Projekt Red's action-RPG franchise. The characters announced for the collaboration, which launches on June 3, include Geralt, Ciri, Yennifer, Triss, and Eredin. Additionally, original Geralt of Rivia voice actor Doug Cockle will be recording new lines for the character to be featured in Dead by Daylight.

Though these collaborations are big news for Dead by Daylight fans, they aren't the only new announcements. Creative Director Dave Richard has announced a Choose Your Own Adventure-style project that developers will be building alongside the fan community. Players will be invited to vote on a new Killer and Survivor's appearance, the chapter's lore, and many other details for an upcoming chapter planned for release in 2026. Additionally, the game is releasing a new collection on July 8 featuring modern-day horror hosts and drag performers the Boulet Brothers, bringing new aesthetic options for The Huntress and The Artist.
