Dead By Daylight Has Bad News for Hellraiser Fans

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive announces some sad news regarding the Hellraiser DLC in the asymmetrical survival horror.

By

Behaviour has confirmed fan speculation about Tokyo Ghoul’s Ken Kaneki joining Dead by Daylight, promising one of the “most kinetic killers to date.” Ken Kaneki has already been introduced in the Steam PTB and will officially enter the game on April 2, stepping in as The Ghoul—a nod to Kaneki’s story in the anime, where his life is saved by the transplantation of a ghoul organ. The Ghoul features the special ability “Kagune Leap,” allowing him to launch tentacles that attach to surfaces and pull him forward. The Ghoul can also target a survivor, grabbing them and inflicting Deep Wounds.

When Does the Dead by Daylight and Tokyo Ghoul Crossover Launch?

  • Available now on Steam PTB
  • Official launch on April 2

If The Ghoul successfully attacks a Dead by Daylight survivor, it triggers Enraged Mode, granting the Killer an additional Kagune Leap and increasing its speed when launched at a survivor. Additionally, other characters and cosmetics from the Tokyo Ghoul anime are being introduced, including the Rize Kamishiro Outfit, four Very Rare Outfits—the Rabbit Costume for Yui Kimura, the Hide Costume for Renato Lyra, the Eto Costume for Nea Karlsson, and the Awakened Ghoul Outfit for The Ghoul—along with four Very Rare Masks for The Unknown, Jonah Vasquez, Jake Park, and David King.

Players on the PTB can also try out some upcoming features, including the surrender option previously announced by Dead by Daylight’s developers. Going forward, when players encounter specific challenges in certain scenarios, they will have the option to surrender while retaining some Bloodpoints, match XP, challenge progress, and emblem scores. The patch also brings a host of bug fixes across different areas of the game, including audio, bots, and characters. Dead by Daylight players and Tokyo Ghoul fans have a lot to look forward to with this crossover.
