Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has been out for about a month now, which means that most players are probably now looking into what Bandai Namco and CyberConnect 2 plans to do with the game in the foreseeable future. To those unaware, DBZ: Kakarot only touched on the events of the Dragon Ball Z anime, from the Frieza Saga, all the way down to the Buu Saga, which left fans wondering what's next for the video game adaptation.

Currently, a Season Pass for the game is already available for purchase, but it doesn't exactly tell players what new content it will bring to DBZ Kakarot apart from a general description of 2 new episodes and one original story. Thankfully, new information leaked recently suggesting that DBZ: Kakarot's DLC will introduce the Gods of the Universe Arc to the game, and Dragon Ball veterans would know that Beerus, who is the God of Destruction, serves as the main antagonist of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods film. The question now is, will he be playable in DBZ: Kakarot?

Will Beerus Be a Playable Character in DBZ: Kakarot?

Late last month, dataminers uncovered the characters Beerus and Whis in DBZ: Kakarot's files . In a YouTube video that demonstrated this discovery (seen below), it has been revealed that both Beerus and Whis aren't just copied models of existing DBZ: Kakarot models. Instead, they each have their own special fighting animations and have unique movements either inland or in the sky, which suggests that Beerus and Whis will be playable characters in DBZ: Kakarot. Moreover, dataminers also discovered that Beerus' iconic Sphere of Destruction attack is also coded within the game.

Although Bandai Namco still hasn't confirmed anything, the appearance of Beerus in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is pretty much inevitable at this point, given the formidable pieces of evidence uncovered by dataminers. Now, with regards to whether Beerus will be a playable character in the game, it is still shrouded in mystery. However, the leading theory here is that if Battle of the Gods will be the next DLC in DBZ: Kakarot, then it is likely that players will be able to play as Beerus after the player defeats him. Of course, all of this is still pure speculation that Bandai Namco still hasn't addressed.

Who Will Be The Other Playable Characters in DBZ: Kakarot - Battle of the Gods?

Assuming that Battle of the Gods will be the next DLC, it is likely that the roster of characters will remain similar to the base game, apart from Future Trunks and Vegito, who make no appearance in this story arc. However, players should expect Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and Gotenks to be playable characters given that the focus of the DLC will likely revolve around the Z Warriors fighting Beerus.

As far as fights are concerned, players should expect all the major battles of each of the Z Warriors with Beerus, most notably the fight between Super Saiyan God Goku and Beerus, where it has been said in the movie that the latter nearly used 70% of his power. There is also this slight possibility that Majin Buu would be a playable character as well, given that he himself was engaged in a battle with Beerus. However, this remains unlikely, given that Majin Buu was also used as a plot device in Dragon Ball Super.

Unfortunately, there is still no official word from Bandai Namco as to when it plans to release DBZ: Kakarot's DLC. However, new details about the expansion emerged several days ago, suggesting that DBZ: Kakarot is indeed getting a Super DLC and will likely release soon.

The new information came from a translation of V Jump magazine that talked about a tree and how it will play an important role in DBZ: Kakarot's upcoming DLC. While there were many speculations as to what this tree is, a reputable Dragon Ball reporter posted an image confirming the tree to be the one found on Beerus' planet. The image also revealed that DBZ: Kakarot's DLC is coming soon, although no specific date or release window was provided. However, it is likely that players will hear more about the upcoming DLC in the coming weeks, with a possible release sometime by the end of March at the very least.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
