Description
Reclaim the Dwarven homeland of Moria Summoned to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, players take control of a company of Dwarves tasked to reclaim the lost spoils from the Dwarven homeland of Moria—known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf—in the depths below their very feet. Their quest will require fortitude, delving deep into the Mines of Moria to recover its treasures. Set in a procedurally generated Dwarven realm of Moria, no two adventures will be alike, and every expedition is traversable either solo or online with companions. Players can mine to craft greater gear and resources, but beware mining makes noise, and noise created in the quiet deep threatens to awaken the dangers below: where there’s clatter, there’s combat. Excavate the mysteries of three legendary mountains, extract precious metals, scrape to survive, and battle unspeakable forces to learn the secret of the Shadow that lurks within.

I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan, so almost any game of any genre that takes place in Middle-earth is one that'll pique my interest. A survival-sandbox set in Moria? Sign me up! It's a pretty fun game, and it's really neat to customize your dwarf and work to rebuild the grandeur of the mines. But the combat feels basic and loose, resources can be tough to reliably nab when you need them, and targeting where you mine with your pickaxe also feels a little wonky.

Quite a fun idea and the art style is very nice, but overall it can quite boring repeating the same mining/combat tasks over and over again!

I absolutely love the angle taken in this game, and it's a bunch of fun to build your own little settlements and mine for resources. I do, however, find the combat to be pretty frustrating at times, and when you die it can be incredibly difficult to get your stuff back. Might be a patience/skill issue on my end, but I definitely enjoyed a lot of what RTM had to offer!
