The Flame in the Flood also features an original soundtrack by acclaimed Alt-Country rocker Chuck Ragan featuring The Camaraderie, The Fearless Kin and other special guests.
The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition is a wilderness survival game in which a girl and her dog travel on foot and by raft down a procedurally-generated river. Scrounge for resources, craft tools, remedy afflictions, evade the vicious wildlife and, most importantly, stay healthy in a dangerous wilderness. Campaign Mode allows players to restart at a predetermined checkpoint if they do die. The crafting system lets players make new items but valuable items must be scavenged.
The setting of forgotten post-societal America comes from game creators who previously worked on games like Halo 2, Bioshock, and Rock Band.

The Flame in the Flood is a beautifully haunting survival game. The river journey through a post-apocalyptic world is both relaxing and nerve-wracking at the same time. I love how it mixes crafting, exploration, and survival elements while also telling a quiet, emotional story. The art style is gorgeous, and the soundtrack sets the perfect tone. My main issue was that the difficulty can be punishing—one wrong move and you’re back at square one. But if you enjoy survival games where you’re constantly on edge, trying to manage resources and stay alive, this one’s definitely worth a go.
