A 2012 action-adventure hack-and-slash video game from Grasshopper Manufacture, Lollipop Chainsaw is actually a collaborationg between filmmaker James Gunn and game designer Goichi Suda (better known as Suda51).
Overflowing with gumption, blood, and rock 'n’ roll, Lollipop Chainsaw is an un-deadly story of a sweet, killer zombie hunter and her mission to uncover the root of a widespread zombie outbreak.
With her wickedly effective chainsaw in tow, Juliet Starling (voiced by Tara Strong in English) slices and dices her way through waves of the undead, but quickly realizes the horde is only the opening act to a festival of zombie rock lords determined to kill the chainsaw toting cheerleader.
Players can expect swift hack-and-slash combat with melee attacks, dodges, and low/high attacks with Juliet's chainsaw. They can also earn gold medals to spend at Chop2Shop.zom stores by defeating zombies, rescuing classmates, or smashing objects.
Her boyfriend Nick (who happens to be a disembodied head around Juliet's waist) accompanies her on the journey and can even be attached to a zombie's body and used to help the cheerleader!
