Niko Bellic’s story hit me hard—it wasn’t just about crazy stunts and wild chases; there was real depth in his quest for the American Dream. The city, Liberty City, felt dense and grimy, and honestly, that realism made it stand out. I won’t lie, though—sometimes the driving and combat felt a little stiff, especially coming off the smoother mechanics of previous games. But still, there was something about just getting lost in that world, grabbing a beer at a bar, or driving through the rain. Good stuff!

My second-most-favorite GTA game. Although it didn't have the beautiful world of San Andreas, the campaign was way better. And Niko himself is the best character Rockstar has ever created next to Arthur Morgan and John Marston.

Choosing a dark theme for GTA was a brave decision by Rockstar, but they nailed it still.

Also, let's not forget about the amazing physics in GTA 4 and how big of a visual leap it was.

After throwing in everything they possibly could in 2004's GTA San Andreas, Rockstar North chose to take a step back from the larger-than-life approach and pursued a grounded style for GTA IV. Gone are the various miscellaneous features (read barber shops, tattoo parlors, and car-modding garages) in favor of delivering a gritty tale of the immigrant protagonist, Niko Bellic, who is dragged into something bloodier than the past he has come so far to escape from. Featuring some of the most well-written characters in the series's history, GTA IV stands out in its own distinguished spot compared to other GTA titles.

Good story line and psyics are good in GTA 4

I first played GTA IV just for the fun of it & not even focusing on the story, but then I got into the story as a pre teen. Niko Bellic's story hit me hard, especially with the revenge & deal endings.

The best GTA game rivalled only by the original San Andreas. Following a more focussed and believable story than GTA 5, this game also features way more interactive elements and minigames than others in the series.

An absolute masterpiece with Niko Bellic’s gripping story of revenge and redemption. Liberty City felt alive, and the moral choices gave the game so much depth.
