Dead Space (2023)

Good game uses it’s surroundings really well to push eeriness

I'll admit, the game did justice to the original. The tension and atmosphere are unparalleled, and the updated visuals make it even scarier. Some parts felt a bit too familiar, but it’s hard to complain when the core experience is this good.

This remake of the classic survival horror game Deadspace is one of if not thee best example of a faithful remake while still adding just enough to be respectful to and enhancing the original experience. Taking inspiration from Resident Evil 4's shop and inventory systems and putting you onboard a wrecked spaceship gives you great resource management and eerie atmosphere, the creepy deformed monsters you fight through our the game along with a good arsenal gives you some impeccable action set pieces and tense boss fights.

This remaster of the classic Dead Space is nearly perfect. They didn't change much, but that's okay because what worked in the original stays here. Despite it's awkward launch, anyone who wants to experience the original should play this remaster.

Dead Space is a terrifying return to the series, with jaw-dropping visuals and heart-pounding atmosphere. The intense gameplay never lets up, and it’ll have you gripping your controller, ready to jump at every shadow.

A brilliant remaster which catapults the original into the modern age. A few technical hiccups here and there do detract somewhat though.
