Wuchang: Fallen Feathers received a release date, with publisher 505 Games announcing that the soulslike will hit the market on July 24. Apart from the current-generation consoles and PC, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will also be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from day one.

Originally announced in September 2021, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a new soulslike from Chengdu, China-based Lenzee Games. Set in 17th-century China, the game takes place during the dying years of the Ming dynasty, characterized by great turmoil. The protagonist, Wuchang, is an amnesiac pirate afflicted by an incurable affliction known as the Feathering Disease, which eventually turns its victims insane and transforms them into monstrous beings. As she travels the war-torn land of Shu, Wuchang will try to uncover her past and learn more about the monstrosities threatening the region.

Not long after confirming Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is targeting a summer 2025 debut, publisher 505 Games committed to a concrete release date: July 24. The game will be released on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC—via both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Xbox Game Pass members will also be able to play it on day one, so long as they are subscribed to either the Ultimate tier of the service or PC Game Pass. It's presently unclear whether Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will have Xbox Cloud Gaming support at launch, though when it comes to new XGP releases, that's the case more often than not.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Starts at $49.99

The release date announcement was accompanied by a new trailer marking the start of the soulslike's pre-order period. The base edition of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers can be pre-purchased for $49.99 / £44.99 / €49.99. 505 Games listed four incentives for pre-ordering the game, including two outfits (White Spectre and Night Spectre), the Vermillion War Club weapon, and the Glistening Red Mercury upgrade item. The $59.99 Deluxe Edition will include four bonus outfits, four additional weapons, and the Blood of Changhong skill upgrade item.

As per usual, it's possible for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to purchase the Deluxe Edition without owning the base game. The pre-order bonuses will be given to players at the very start of the game's storyline.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Already Has 2 Confirmed Games for July 2025

Following this release date announcement, Xbox Game Pass now has two confirmed games for July 2025. The other one is the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 remake, which is scheduled to arrive on July 11. Moonlighter 2 is also coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in summer 2025, though it's still lacking a firm release date.
