Momo and Okarun have a special bond. Ever since they crossed paths with each other, it seemed as though they were destined to be together. Although their worlds could not be further apart, their shared interests became such a powerful connection that they could not help but stick to one another.

I thought if I got stronger behind her back… I’d look cool… I lied to her on purpose… and reap what I sowed! So what if she’s disappointed with you?! If you wanna be considered of Ayase-san’s feelings… Don’t make excuses! Get stronger!

Over time, they encountered numerous challenges while exploring the supernatural and learned to put their lives on the line for one another without hesitation. Okarun has never opened up to someone as he did with Momo. In fact, he barely made any friends in school, as he was bullied by most of his classmates. It was natural that Momo became so special to him since she not only stood up to his bullies but always treated him as an equal.

On the other hand, Momo noticed that Okarun was not like other guys. He was extremely kind to everyone and protected people close to him. His altruistic nature was a breath of fresh air for Momo, and she understandably couldn't stop being drawn to him.

Over time, Ken and Momo have come to realize that they have feelings for one another, but they appear to struggle to put them into words. At their age, their hesitation and immaturity to deal with something as complicated as a relationship is understandable, but by no means should one assume that their bond is unshakable. They are still too young, and only time will tell if their feelings for each other are ephemeral or something more meaningful.

Aira Shiratori, who once used to bully students like Ken, changed her opinion as she got to know him. His heroic actions and bravery won her heart. Aira ended up liking him so much that she even fantasized about going on dates with him. Since she was too immature to understand how to express her romantic feelings, she naively looked at her father's books and even tried to kiss Ken.

Despite Okarun never showing any romantic interest in her, Aira seems to be still hopeful that he will eventually fall for her. Interestingly, Momo's problems don't end there. In Dandadan Season 2, a mysterious alien named Bamora will arrive on Earth, looking for an ideal husband. After a long search, she will choose Okarun and try to naively claim him by kissing him.

Momo, who already feels jealous because of Aira's antics, may have to adjust to this new reality. It would be interesting to see how the dynamics of Okarun and Momo's group will change in light of such incidents. Furthermore, Dandadan Season 2 might finally reveal if the deuteragonists still feel the same way even when they have other people showing interest in them.
