Cyberpunk 2077 is getting an unlikely crossover later this month, when Cyberpunk: Edgerunners star Lucy becomes the final Guilty Gear -Strive- Season 4 DLC character. Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red and famed anime studio Trigger collaborated in 2022 to release Cyberpunk Edgerunners, a tie-in Netflix series that takes place about a year before the events of the game. It tells the story of David Martinez, an aspiring cyberpunk who gets more than he bargained for after joining a gang of edgerunners looking to make it big in Night City.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a massive success, with its critical acclaim helping to draw more players into Cyberpunk 2077 years after its controversial launch and resulting wave of corrective updates. While promoting the series, CD Projekt Red added some Cyberpunk: Edgerunners-based content to Cyberpunk 2077, and now one of the show’s key characters is making a surprise appearance in a completely separate game in the next few weeks.

Guilty Gear -Strive- Lucy DLC Release Date
- August 21, 2025
Back in July 2024, it was announced that Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners would be added to Guilty Gear -Strive- as the final DLC character for Season 4. ARC System Works and CD Projekt Red recently presented a new Lucy-centric gameplay trailer during the last day of EVO 2025 in Las Vegas this weekend, showing off her fighting style and giving eager fans a release date of August 21, 2025. A free update will be given out ahead of her launch as part of the Guilty Gear Strive Season Pass 4, with more details to be revealed in the near future.
As for Lucy herself, the Guilty Gear -Strive- trailer starts with her attempting to hack into some sort of computer server, only to find herself suddenly transported to the world of ARC System Works’ fighting game series. From there, she gets to work battling opponents with her whip-like Monowire weapons and a handgun, and she can quickhack into enemies and infect them with malware just like V can in Cyberpunk 2077. Throughout the trailer, Lucy’s voiceover notes that she is looking for someone, all as the song “I Really Want to Stay At Your House” plays in the background.
Lucy’s upcoming guest appearance in Guilty Gear -Strive- isn’t something that many fans of either franchise saw coming, but ARC System Works seems to be doing a fine job in recreating her abilities and Cyberpunk Edgerunners’ visual style throughout her move set. Lucy remains one of the most popular characters in the hit Netflix series, and while it isn’t clear if she will appear in the planned Cyberpunk: Edgerunners follow-up series, fans will be able to bring her cyberware into the battlefield of Guilty Gear -Strive- starting on August 21.
