Cyberpunk 2077 Devs Reveal No New Content Will Be Announced on September 4

Some players hypothesized that the post was teasing a new update, while others went a step further, claiming that a new alternate reality game may be on the way. Unfortunately, it looks like both of these guesses were inaccurate, as a follow-up Tweet was made by a developer today. According to the post, no announcement or reveal about new content coming to Cyberpunk 2077 will be made on September 4. Instead, the initial tweet was "part of an activity tied to the Phantom Liberty anniversary." The wildly popular Phantom Liberty expansion was released in September 2023 and was quickly met with critical acclaim.
In response, many players expressed frustration, questioning why the team didn't make this clear in the initial post. Others demanded to know when new content would be coming to the title, which currently boasts around 50,000 concurrent players on Steam nearly five years after its initial release.
