Despite CD Projekt Red's (CDPR) Cyberpunk 2077 getting delayed for the third time, pushing Cyberpunk 2077's release to December, recent rumors have appeared online that suggest that the game is going to be hit with another delay, ultimately sending it to 2021. However, CDPR has picked up on the rumors and reassured fans that the actual release is indeed in December.

The rumor spread like wildfire and a number of communities and media sites picked up on it, which in return caused CDPR to reassure everyone that the rumor was not correct. While speaking with IGN, a CD Projekt Red representative stated that the company doesn't comment on rumors surrounding Cyberpunk 2077, however, also told the news outlet that "[...] We were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th." Seeing as how this is an official statement from CDPR, the possibility of a fourth delay is somewhat small.

If Cyberpunk 2077 was delayed again, then it's safe to say that would not sit well with some members of the fanbase. For instance, after CDPR announced that the game would be delayed until December, some Cyberpunk 2077's developers received death threats from angry fans demanding them to release the game.

On the other hand, it's difficult not to give into rumors dealing with possible Cyberpunk 2077 delays. Although the game has been delayed multiple times at this point, it has been delayed for a reason, which ultimately means that the developers are working to ensure a quality product and make sure that Cyberpunk 2077 runs on all consoles, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as current-generation ones. Essentially, more delays could mean a better gameplay experience on launch day.

Ultimately, seeing as how the game is a month away from release, the only thing fans can do is remain optimistic and hopeful about Cyberpunk 2077 and that it comes out without any issues or future delays. Since Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed three times now, this should hopefully be enough time (in total) for the development team to release the game. Seeing how CDPR recently double-downed on the December release date, all what's left to do is wait.

Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release on December 10th for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions also in development.
