Cult of the Lamb will be getting a major paid DLC expansion, titled Woolhaven, planned for release in early 2026, as shown by a new trailer released at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025. Woolhaven will mark the fifth time that Cult of the Lamb will receive new DLC content, and the first since 2024.
Originally released across multiple platforms in August 2022, Cult of the Lamb is the best-selling game Devolver Digital has ever published. Juxtaposing cute visuals with dark themes, including ritual sacrifice, the game has attracted a lot of adoration from fans who adore its combination of roguelike dungeon crawling and management of the adorable cultists gathered in the commune.
Cult of the Lamb's Woolhaven DLC Arrives in Early 2026
A new trailer for the Woolhaven DLC expansion revealed at Gamescom's opening night presentation showcases some beautiful, fully-animated cinematics mixed in with clips of Cult of the Lamb's combat and resource management. It hints at a new antagonist, Marchosias, the wolf-like marquis of Hell, as described in the Ars Goetia, and shows off a number of other gameplay clips of new enemies. The animated portions of the trailer foreshadow some other chilling foes, as the Lamb is encountered by a number of fleshy abominations and what appears to be a team of at least three evil lambs.
The new trailer also shows off what appears to be a new weapon type in Cult of the Lamb. Multiple short clips show the Lamb swinging a pair of massive spiked ball-and-chain weapons overhead, smashing enemies from above and tearing up chunks of earth as they make impact with the ground. There also may be new events happening at players' home bases, as cultists are shown grimacing and clutching at their robes while all heading off in the same direction, while a pair of clips also show off a new yak-like creature that the Lamb can have follow it around or even ride it around the camp.
Woolhaven will be the fifth DLC released for Cult of the Lamb, and it looks like it should be the biggest expansion the game has seen to date. While the development team so far has also padded out the game's content with a collection of free updates, the previous DLC releases have been centered around packs, which have added features like new follower forms, outfits, decorations, and fleece. Each of the previous DLC packs has been made available for around $5, and while Woolhaven is currently available for wishlisting on Steam, no price has been announced yet.
