Bloober Team has revealed that its upcoming sci-fi horror game Cronos: The New Dawn will be released this September. Alongside this announcement, Cronos: The New Dawn has received a new trailer and is confirmed to be heading to a new platform alongside PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.

Announced in October 2024, Cronos: The New Dawn is the next game from Bloober Team, the developer behind the critically-acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake. Prior to this, Bloober Team's track record wasn't the greatest, with most of its games launching to lukewarm critical reception and 2014's Basement Crawl even ranking among the lowest-rated PS4 exclusives. After the Silent Hill 2 remake, though, hopes were high for whatever Bloober Team is cooking up next, and Cronos: The New Dawn has done well to capture intrigue.

At the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Bloober Team showed up to confirm that Cronos: The New Dawn will launch on September 5, 2025. Notably, this release date slightly precedes the originally-stated fall 2025 launch window for Cronos: The New Dawn, but it's unlikely that anyone will complain about getting the game early. Two editions of Cronos: The New Dawn will be available: a $59.99 Standard Edition and a $69.99 Deluxe Edition that reportedly includes 48-hour early access beginning on September 3, though this hasn't been officially confirmed yet. A PS5 physical edition of Cronos: The New Dawn is coming via Skybound Games too, and will include a sticker set and bonus in-game content.

As for the reason behind Cronos: The New Dawn appearing at the July 2025 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, the game's launch platforms have expanded to include the Nintendo Switch 2. This should give Bloober Team a wide net to cast for Cronos: The New Dawn, targeting players on every current-gen platform. It's worth noting, though, that Cronos: The New Dawn will be available on Switch 2 only in the $59.99 Standard Edition, with the Deluxe Edition eluding the Nintendo handheld. A physical version of Cronos: The New Dawn for Switch 2 has not been confirmed yet either.

For those looking forward to Bloober Team's upcoming sci-fi horror adventure, Cronos: The New Dawn pre-orders are now live on the digital storefronts of the aforementioned platforms. With launch just over a month away, it should be interesting to see how Cronos: The New Dawn performs. If successful, Bloober Team would be two-for-two after the Silent Hill 2 remake and potentially carry the streak forward with future games. Speaking of which, Bloober Team is working on numerous game projects in collaboration with various publishers, including a remake of the first Silent Hill game.
