Cronos: The New Dawn received its first-ever discount, having been marked down by 15% across every platform. Coinciding with the start of this pre-Halloween sale, Cronos: The New Dawn launched a playable demo, albeit with one caveat.
The latest title from Silent Hill 2 remake developer Bloober Team generated mostly positive buzz on release, as reflected in its "Strong" rating on OpenCritic, based on a 76% reviewer recommendation rate and an average score of 78. Many reviewers praised Cronos: The New Dawn's environment design and atmosphere, though some scores were dragged down by criticism of clunky combat and dated survival horror mechanics, such as extremely limited inventory space.

Bloober Team, the studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake, shares fresh details on its upcoming projects, including four new games.
Cronos: The New Dawn Marked Down 15% Ahead of Halloween
Six weeks following its early September 2025 launch, Cronos: The New Dawn has been treated to its first-ever discount, with Bloober Team marking it down by 15%. The first wave of offers, which brought the game's price down to $50.99, went live on Steam, Epic Games Store, and PlayStation Store on October 21. The Switch 2 version of Cronos: The New Dawn was then discounted a day later, with its Xbox counterpart being expected to follow suit in the coming hours. The PC discount will be available until November 3, whereas the PS Store sale is labeled as running for two days longer. Conversely, the first-ever eShop deal on Cronos: The New Dawn will run until November 16.

Cronos: The New Dawn Gets a Demo, But For Only One Platform
Simultaneously with the start of the new sale, Cronos: The New Dawn received a free playable demo. The trial version of the survival horror title is now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. It's unclear whether it's eventually planned to reach consoles as well. The PC-only demo centers on the opening section of the game, establishing Cronos: The New Dawn's lore and monsters. Bloober Team estimates that it offers between 30 and 40 minutes of action.
Save data from the newly launched trial can be transferred to the full version of the game. The demo has no time limit and can be replayed indefinitely, making platform availability its only major caveat.
Bloober recently signaled that Cronos: The New Dawn wasn't a one-off project, stating that it "definitely" intends to revisit the IP in the future. Based on the developer-publisher's track record, its latest survival horror title may receive one more minor discount before the end of 2025, possibly around Cyber Monday.
