Purchasing items from shops is a very common mechanic in RPGs. Even all the way back to the first Final Fantasy on the Nintendo Entertainment System, players would often visit shops to stock up on potions and anything else they may need as they progressed through the story.

Naturally, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion has shops that allow players to stay stocked up and ready for all the challenges that lie ahead. In fact, there are 15 shops that players can unlock in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. Some can easily be missed, so here is how to unlock all the shops.

How to Unlock All Shops

As mentioned above, there are 15 shops to unlock in total. Two of them can only be obtained during main missions. The first one is a gift from Cissnei during Chapter 3, while the other one can be obtained from a chest in Chapter 9 in the Gongaga Outskirts. The shop address in Chapter 9 can easily be missed, so players will want to make sure to explore and open every chest they come across.

The rest of the shops in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion are only obtained by completing optional side missions. The missions that unlock shops, and what's required to unlock them, are as follows.

  • Mission 2-3-1 (Unidentified Monsters) - Requires completion of 2-2-5 and 2-2-6, both of which unlock at the start of Chapter 10
  • Mission 2-4-1 (A Solitary Island) - Requires completion of all 2-3 Missions
  • Mission 2-4-5 (Cave-In Investigation) - Requires progression through 2-4 Missions
  • Mission 4-2-6 (The Five Saints of Wutai) - Requires completion of all of both 4-1 and 4-2 Missions.
  • Mission 4-3-6 (Stop the Assailants) - Requires players to have found all six Wutai Spies before the end of Chapter 7.
  • Mission 4-4-3 (Infiltration) - Requires completion of 4-2 Missions and progression through 4-4 Missions.
  • Mission 6-2-1, 6-2-3, and 6-2-6 (Midgar City Development Missions) - These Missions can only be started by speaking with NPCs in the Shinra Building Entrance during Chapter 5. Players should keep in mind that these missions do not list shops as a reward, but players will still get them upon completing those three missions.
  • Mission 6-4-4 (Hiding in the Wasteland) - Requires completion of all 6-1 and 6-3 Missions, along with progression through 6-4 Missions.
  • Mission 7-5-3 (Girl on the Desert Island) - Requires completion of all 7-2, 7-3, and 7-4 Missions along with progression through 7-5.
  • Mission 9-3-3 (Genesis's New Weapon) - Requires completion of all 8-4, 8-5, 9-1, and 9-2 Missions along with progression through 9-3.
  • Mission 9-5-4 (Abnormal Power) - Requires completion of all 9-1 through 9-4 Missions along with progression through 9-5. The Great Cavern of Wonders is a lengthy series of extremely difficult Missions that culminate in a boss fight against Minerva.

The contents of each shop will vary, but they all sell useful things like accessories, materia, and items. The shop unlocked in 9-5-4 sells the powerful Genji Helm accessory, which will cost a hefty 1,000,000 Gil to purchase.
